Day 10 Post surgery

I had CTS surgery 10 days ago and found the procedure relatively pain free and very straight forward. As you are aware I am on strong painkillers for a pre existing condition and until Sunday, suffered no pain from the surgery whatsoever. However, I am now experiencing pain in my middle and ring finger, as well as the Palm Side of my wrist. There is no sign of an infection of any kind and the wound is healing very well. I am slightly concerned with the pain I'm getting as I consider myself to have a high threshold. Is this a normal part of the healing process? Thank you in advance for any advice.

Mostly the recovery period after carapl tunnel surgery is fairly pain free but a few patients do describe a variety of different aches and pains. The stitches should be coming out at 14 days and that gives the person removing them a good chance to check over the wound and see if there is anything untoward so I would sit tight until then unless anything obvious stats to appear such as a discharge from the wound. Keep the fingers moving gently as that should stop the tendons sticking. JB
