Painful wrist?!?!

Hi I had carpal tunnel surgery 7 days ago and I think it's gone ok! The think is now I'm having pain in the right side of my wrist? The pain is very bad and kind of takes my breath away and make me feel quite sick! It's like a constantly pulsating pain that goes and then is back almost immediately? I didn't have this before surgery and it doesn't matter if I keep my wrist still or move it the pain is always there.
I'm not sure what could be causing this, any suggestions?
I was in severe pain before the surgery I had nerve testing and they said it wasn't showing as very bad but when I had the surgery they said it was very angry and the tendons were fused to the nerve with fibrous tissue so they spent along time separating them? Is this usual? Could the pain be to do with that?
I've not got a follow up appointment till 19th may so wanted to check with someone before then.
Many thanks.

It's hard to assess that on the net. it may be that they have just caused a lot of local inflammation by mauling the tendons and nerve during surgery but one also has to consider the possibility of infection or bleeding deep in the wound. I would try to contact the team who did the surgery and if they aren't interested then get your GP to take a look at it. JB
