And I am a florist so this is honeybee interesting.. I begin the week delivering n designing with 1 hand .. I didn't lug a thing other than a pen n a piece of paper for 4 days.. Fri I feel great all fingers good motion .. incision looks great but the tip of my thumb has gone to sleep . Just the first knuckle bottom part of thumb ok have feeling??? And good motion to Palm.. any o e else experience this?? Is this common?? Temporary or permanent?? Any guesses it's driving me nuts lol thanks

I would not worry too much about that less than 2 weeks after surgery. If it was not numb immediately after surgery it is not likely to an injury sustained during the operation. If it persists at about 4 weeks I would start to think about arranging some post-operative nerve conduction studies. Is there any weakness of the thumb? JB

No no weakness to thumb. It's is pretty normal except the tip is asleep. So far everything else in normal. Tomorrow I get my stiches out day 16 .

In that case 4-6 weeks post-op is probably a good time to assess whether there is a new problem or not. JB
