First injection to left wrist.

Hi. I had my injection on 2nd May and now I don't have to wear my wrist splint at night for the pain, but my thumb and index and middle fingers are still tingly and the tips feel a bit numb all the time.
Will this eventually go?

Thank you.

That may or may not go. Some people get better responses to injection than others and some symptoms may improve at differing rates. We will review the situation at 6 weeks and if there are still enough symptoms to be a significant nuisance we will consider whether to try a second dose of steroids or to proceed to surgery. JB

Hello. All symptoms seemed to go, although I got a slight tingle on and off. Then the other day I got a very bad pain in my index finger and it now goes to the back of my hand and palm. I thought it would go away but no, it hasn't and it is very painful and hurts all the time and more especially when I use it. It feels like my middle finger has pain as well but it could be from the pain I am getting from the index finger.

What to do next, please.

I have just replied to the email you sent to me yesterday. These do not sound like typical carpal tunnel symptoms and I have asked in the email for you to give me a few more details. EK

I agree with Emma - that sounds like a different problem to the CTS. Probably needs to be seen by either us, your GP or A&E to figure what is going on (though I would keep A&E as a last resort if the first two options are unavailable and it's getting really bad). JB
