I had a message to say I can call in to Canterbury clinic on 23rd feb between 9-12 am to have a scan on both hands, before my op on my left hand on the 25th feb., will this still be ok ?
I am experiencing some sharp pains running through my thumb (a bit like a small electric shock ) in my right hand,it was operated on in May last year,also some tingling has returned when holding my hand still for longer than a few mins, will the scan show if the nerve has been trapped again, or is this not possible?
23rd Feb should be fine and we will see what there is to be seen. Sometimes the nerve can become adherent to scar tissue after surgery and this may be visible as reduced mobility of the nerve. We should probably also measure your NCS again so hopefully there will be time for everything. JB
