Splinting

I have used the splint for jusy over 4 weeks. I find my wrist a lot better at night and less painful still during the day. Should I use it for a bit longer?

It depends just how much better the symptoms are. Is 'less painful during the day" enough of an improvment that treatment can be onsidered a succes so far?.... or is it still enough of a nuisance that it needs something else doing about it. If the latter then I would probably arrange a local steroid injection at this point. If you complete the questionnaire on here again we can take a look at how your subjective scores have changed since I saw you. JB

Thank you for your reply, have updated the questionaire the result seems little different from the last one. Perhaps I should mention that I take pain tablets for Arthritis (Parecetamol 500mg) usually 4 a day.

Just a slight improvement by the look of it. I doubt if paracetamol is making much difference to it overall. If you think it is still a nuisance we should arrange for a local steroid injection for that left hand. JB

Thanks for your reply. I think I would like to go for the injection please, so could you please set this up for me. I must say I think this on line set up is wonderful, saves every one a lot of time.

I will annotate your main record in the system I share with the SIPC office on Monday morning so that they can see that we have made plans to inject the hand. You should therefore be able to call them on Monday afternoon to arrange an injection. The numbers are HERE. JB
