Research on the experience of Carpal Tunnel - volunteers sought

Hi all,

My name is Rohan. I am a researcher currently conducting research on how patients with carpal tunnel syndrome use the internet, including this site, to find information and experiences related to their condition.

I would really like to hear from any forum members that would be happy to share their experiences with me as part of that research. It would involve either a short 20-25 minute phone/video call interview with you to ask about your experience of carpal tunnel, diagnosis/treatment (where relevant) and how you searched for information and support including your use of this site and forum.

Please do contact me at behaviouralux [at] outlook [dot] com if you are interested in participating.

I am also very happy to answer any questions you have or provide more information. If for any reason you don't feel able to take part in a phone/video interview I can provide you with the questions by email.

All information provided as part of any interview will be kept securely and will be subject to confidentiality.

The background to this research is I am a researcher and am undertaking some additional training in research and design. In that capacity am working on a project requested by a doctor treating hand and wrist conditions (not Dr Bland) to look at the experiences of patients online. This could ultimately lead to the design of a new website or app for that Doctor but at the moment my focus is making sure we research and understand the current experience of patients.

I am not being paid for conducting this research but it does form part of my professional development. I have asked Dr Bland's permission in advance to post on the forum.

Thank you for your consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Just to confirm that this has been discussed with me and I think it is a legitimate request for assistance with quite an interesting piece of work. JB
