Told have got to keep bandage on for two weeks but because of the position where the bandage is it keeps coming off. Any ideas as what to do?

I can't advise much with post-operative care, especially when I can't see it, but hopefully Nick will have something to say JB

Bandage can come off after a week and the skin dressing should stay on for two weeks. All together the surgical wound should stay clean and dry for two weeks. After two weeks as long as the wound looks like a healing, fresh scar rather than a cut then it is acceptable to get it wet in the shower or bath. Once the sutures have fallen out (if your surgeon has used absorbable type sutures), usually after 3 weeks, or once the sutures have been removed, then scar massage using a non-scented moisturiser is advised.

Hand very painful today after my surgery a week and half ago. Wound very red and wondered if that was an infection starting?

It's always possible. If it is getting more painful rather than less that is probably not a good sign but I generally defer to the surgeons on post-operative care. JB
