Symptoms back

Dear Dr Bland

I had my first injection in both hands on 28th January. My pins and needles/the numbness in my hands came gradually back at night. These symptoms are now preventing me from sleeping properly. I'm starting to have a bit of these symptoms during the day too.I also feel pain in my right wrist. Could this be related to CTS? I feel it's time to arrange an appointment for a second injection. I just hope this one will work for longer.

As this was grade 3 in October we should check that it has not deteriorated before injecting again - if it has got worse I would be more inclined to go for surgery. I'll arrange an appointment. JB

Many thanks for your quick reply. I just hope the waiting time for my appointment is not too long at this time of year.

Following my appointment on 1st July, I went to see my GP (regarding my tenosynocitis). Before booking my injection for the latter I wanted to confirm it is safe for me to also have my steroids injection for CTS in such a short period.
Can you advise or shall I get back to my GP about it?
Many thanks

It should be no problem. The dose of steroids used for these injections would be significant if you were having one every day but one or two will make little overall difference to your average steroid levels (you have natural internal sources of steroids!) - especially when they are administered locally rather than in tablet form.
