Update on using the splint
Hi Dr Bland I attended your clinic in November 2021 and had a negative result but you did the ultrasound scan and gave me a splint to wear at night and asked me to let you know if I have any relief of symptoms while using it I have found that I did feel some relief and still use the splint more often than not I do still have pain during the day but find I am waking less due to pain in my hand. Please advise on next steps if any many thanks
Update
Hi, i received steroid injections on 29/10/21 in my right wrist, after a few days of achey wrist, my symptoms improved although still very apparent. Since receiving this treatment my left wrist has deteriorated and I believe i am in need of steroid injections in my left wrist also. I have lost the email address that i had been given to contact with updates. Please help

Follow up appointment
Hi, just wondered how I can go about getting a follow up appointment.
Had steroids in both wrists last spring, however I’ve started to have difficulty again with zips, grip and fiddly things.
Pain comes and goes however I am reaching for the splints at night more now.
Many thanks
Tony
Can anything further be done after ops on both hands?
Dear Dr Bland, after not resolving symptoms in either hand with surgery, Dr Ponraja is investigating if anything further is possible. If my records (and my memory!) are correct, I last had an electric/nerve check at Canterbury on my left hand in Dec 2020. I had surgery on the right hand in Feb 2021. I don't think I have had an electric/nerve check on the right hand, but of course I could be wrong. Two weeks ago, Dr Ponraja arranged an ultrasound check on both wrists.
Five months blessed relief but now again woken nightly by pain
The relief from previous steroid injections in June 2021 was immediate. Quite miraculous and a welcome surprise!.
But as warned the relief might not last long and it hasn't.
I am having house move in 2022 with some serious downsizing necessary so painfree hands again at night would be a blessing.
In the questionaire I said pain only generally woke me up once at night. This is because I generally gained relief of the pain in the best way - by getting up!. Will now try wearing splints again and see whether they make a difference.
Advice please Doctor Bland
Good morning Doctor Bland
Sorry for not reporting back sooner but after having my release operation end of July I'm pleased to say that my left hand is now symptom free, I get the odd ache around the scar area but all numbness, pain etc has gone! I'm so pleased.
Pain in elbow/ upper arm is this related?
Dear Team,
I have been experiencing pain in my left arm, particularly around the elbow joint area, occasionally radiating up to the bicep/ shoulder area and/or down to my hand (around the thumb area).
The pain is not an acute sudden pain, it is more of a numbness/ dull ache feeling. This pain did occur initially about 6 weeks ago after using a hedge trimmer in the garden and the pain was acute for about a week, with reduced mobility of the elbow.
Post CT operation
On 29 Jan 2021 I had the Carpal Tunnel operation on my right hand. I have to report that whereas for a few months afterward, sensation had returned to my fingertips, today (24-11-21) numbness returned for a while. I'll post further updates if this situation doesn't improve or deteriorates.
