Pre assessment for today’s appointment

I’ve filled out the form with reference to how my current problems are affecting me with my forearm up as at the moment, as you know, not specific to my hands. Hope I’ve done the right thing.
Kind regards.

Possible steroid injection appointment

Dear Jeremy.

I had a steroid injection in the wrist of my right hand last year and was wondering when could it be possible to do so again? The pain and numbness has come back and soon will be unbearable for me. I hope you can fit me in as soon as able, and thank you for your hard work.

CTS symptoms worse

I received steroid treatment in June 2020, there was a slow improvement in both hands, but from December up to present numbness and tingling have got worse, and on a few occasions I have dropped, or been unable to hold a plate with my left hand. I have extreme difficulty opening jars or bottles with screw caps.

My symptoms have worsened

Good afternoon

My symptoms of carpal tunnel have become extremely severe and I have a 10week old baby which I am currently unable to pick up or care for due to the symptoms of my carpal tunnel being so severe.
Please could this be taken into consideration when my appointment is being reviewed.

Thanks

Worsening to unbearable degree

Hi, over the last few days the pain from left mid forearm up has become excruciating (particularly around elbow and shoulder areas). I would say more painful than when this all began, my right hand thankfully has ceased to continue to be much of a problem! I am still having pins and needles in my fingers on my left hand but to a lesser degree! I have spoken to my doctor who has now increased my Amitriptyline from 10mg to 25mg daily. I am again taking far too many painkillers yet they are barely helping!

update on injection

Dear Dr Bland I attended your clinic at K&C on 11/12/20 for the first time since2012 due to increasing symptoms. You assessed me now as level 6 but said we could try an injection in the right wrist (the worst one). The results were immediate and very gratifying. Occasional slight numbness, occasional slight pins & needles. No problems at night and no need to wear a splint. So now I'm hoping that this lasts for a good while, and that the need for an operation may go away. Graham Wallin

Update post left hand injection

Numbing and tingling in fingers took a few weeks to dissipate to a low level. Unfortunately still waking up with pins and needles. Curiously pins and needles on top of forearm also which is quite new and been since injection. Pain is now low level not sure if it’s to do with injection or Amitriptyline or both. However, that being said, pain now starting again in right hand at wrist below the side of my thumb!
