Do my symptoms warrant surgery?
I fractured my radius and damaged the ulna at my left wrist in October last year. I have a degree of reduced movement as a result which I have physiotherapy for. I noticed severe tingling and numbness of my thumb, index and middle fingers. After testing it was identified as CTS. A few months on and it's not so severe but I might have just got used to it now and it doesn't bother me so much. However, I think I feel the same in my right hand fingers.
questionnaire completion
I have completed the questionnaire for review as advised in recently sent letter.
Thanks Michelle Standfield
Very painful
I’ve had a really bad night last night, my right hand very painful, woken up every hour, much worse than a couple of weeks ago. Would appreciate it if you could manage to fit me in to your clinic as soon as possible. Many thanks. Wendy B
Return of discomfort following surgery.
Good afternoon Dr Bland,
I hope you and your team are safe and well. I contacted you about a month ago regarding the discomfort I am experiencing in my right hand following surgery. You said to give it a few weeks and contact you again. So here I am! The discomfort seems to be centred on my middle and ring finger. I am unable to fully straighten these fingers and it is difficult to grasp things with this hand. It appears to be becoming progressively worse.

Right hand pain.
Dear Dr Bland , firstly I hope your are coping in these uncertain times and are keeping well.
In the last week the pain in my right hand , fingers, has become so painful I am having trouble sleeping.
In the day my fingers are numb and I get an electric type shock when my hand is in certain positions.
Would you be able to make an appointment for me when one is available. I can take a cancellation at very short notice a couple of hours. Thank you. Yours faithfully Nigel Watson.
Left wrist
Hi. A few weeks ago I started getting stiffness and limited movement in my left wrist, over the last few days it has become unbearable. I am unable to lift anything and have pain from my forearm to the end of my thumb. I'm probably due another injection. Are you able to help or shall I ask at my local surgery? Many thanks.
Worsening symptoms
Hi, I am finding using my right hand very difficult especially first thing in the morning. Symptoms are getting increasingly worse. My last injection was in October 2019 so I may require a new test but would very much appreciate it if this could be done as soon as possible. I fully understand the Covid situation but would be pleased to know whether there is a chance of being seen in the short term. Thank you very much. Wendy B
Steroid injection
Hi there, I have had 2 previous steroid injections over the last 3 years, CTS has returned in my right hand, it’s quite severe and I’m having to wear a splint. I am now on dialysis and my fistula is also on that hand and I’m unable to wear my splint while dialysing and at times the pain is so bad that I feel I can’t continue with my dialysis. Can you please advise if there is a chance of an appointment for another steroid injection in the near future Regards Anthony
Recurrence of pain
Good morning Dr Bland.
I understand you are now offering a limited injection service. I had tests, and injection on my right hand in December this was very successful, but now the problems have returned. I am kept awake at night with the pain even with splint and I also have persistent tingling and numbness throughout the day. I tried filling in the questionnaire again but at the end it came back with NAN. Just wondered if I could be put on your list for a further injection.
Many thanks
