Getting worse cant sleep splints not helping sorry

My pain is getting progressively worse at night even though I wear the wrist splints. I get to sleep quickly have been almost pain free all day while I am busy. However after a few hours I am woken by severe pain in one or both hands. Then there is nothing I can do apart from get up and walk about or find something to do. Once I am busy the pain starts to ease. I go back to bed fall asleep and within an hour or so the pain wakes me again. And that's how my nights are now. I don't know what to do. I need advice please. Can I make another hospital appointment to see Dr. Bland ?

Thread Carpal Tunnel Release

Dear Dr Bland,
My apologies if I am in the wrong Forum, but I wanted to ask this question of you, which could also be of general interest. I have a CTS problem for which surgery has been recommended, but I would be keen to avoid a big scar in the base of my palm if I could.

Advice on next steps after using splint

I had my appointment in Oct 2019
Went well to begin with wearing splint at night, been worse again recently, and connected to shoulder/jaw ache as well.
Not sure if I should focus on carpel tunnel - consider injection, and/or be patient and continue with the splint consistently at night for longer? OR focus on trying to figure out the shoulder/jaw issue. Which is impacting which??
appreciate your advice.

Returning pain and numbness

Hello,

I have had the pain return in both hands, it has been back quite bad for a few months now and i keep putting off contacting the clinic but i have got to a stage where i am unable to sleep again due to the pain, i am back to wearing splints at night and it is helping a bit but not enough, Driving is also causing me pain. The pain and numbness seams to be travelling further up my arms this time around. Is it possible to get an appointment at some point?

6 Week Update following injections

Had injections in both wrists 6 weeks ago:

Right hand - generally has improved with only slight symptoms remaining, e.g. occasional numbness on waking (but not disturbing sleep) and very slight sensation in hand when pressure put on wrist.

Left hand - symptoms have improved apart from thumb, which is still tingling slightly at tip, and tingling sensation in hand when pressure put on wrist.

Can you please advise if I need to attend a follow up appointment please?

Many thanks.

Good afternoon My symptoms have suddenly become more pronounced, the numbness now affects daily tasks such as using a hairdryer. Would it be possible to be retested to see if there is a deterioration and whether another injection would be appropriate ? Thanks

New Patient

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Bland ( by name but NOT by nature) and Emma a few days ago. I was very impressed with the the time Dr. B took in explaining the CTS condition in general and how it impacted on me in particular. The use of a model hand helped to clarify things. I had left hand level one and right hand level three. I was very pleased to have, on the spot, a steroid injection and splint for the right hand and a splint only for my left hand, which will undoubtedly deteriorate over time.

Split for 6 weeks

Dear Dr Bland,

I have worn my splint for 6 weeks, but feel that there has been no improvement and the tingling has increased slightly in my left hand, small finger and ring finger. I also notice less power when I am unscrewing jars. I have continued to wear the splint after the 6 weeks.

Treatment Required

I had injections in both wrists on 8th March 2018 and they worked perfectly, however, my symptoms have now returned with a vengeance. My right is worst than the left.
Can I please be arranged an appointment to have the injections again?
Many thanks
