Return of carpel tunnel in right hand.

Dear Mr Bland, following surgery on my left hand in January 2017 the carpel tunnel syndrome in my right hand improved so much I have not needed to contact you . The last few weeks the pain, numbness and tingling has got much worse in my right hand and I have had some sleepless nights because of it. Would it be possible to make an appointment again to complete some tests and talk about treatment.
Yours faithfully

Appointment Request

Hi,

I had my second round of injections on my right wrist in February and have been suffering with symptoms for the past few months. Would be grateful for a follow up appointment. Many thanks Jennie Diddams

update from diagnosis.

Hello.

I have been using the splints as instructed during the night and this has definitely helped with the lessening of pins and needles. However, if I do cleaning or in-fact anything using my hands repetitively, I still get pain which can be mild to severe, causing pain to focus mainly on my thumbs, wrists and to travel up my arm and the sensation of a band twanging is still evident.

Return of symptoms

Dear Dr Bland

I last saw Emma in clinic on 8th May 2018 and was given a steroid injection in my right hand. This has lasted for over a year but I am now experiencing pain and numbness in my right hand once again. I am now finding that writing and holding the steering wheel when driving is very uncomfortable. Please can I have another appointment to see either you or Emma to discuss my options to relieve the pain. I have filled in another questionnaire.

Many thanks Pauline

Feedback following consultation

Hi,

I saw you on 13th June following assessment for CTS which showed grade 1 in my left hand and grade 2 in my right. Since the consultation I have been wearing the splints you provided every night. My symptoms are much improved. I no longer get the pins and needles in my hands which I was experiencing several times every night. I do still sometimes get very mild pins and needles in two fingers on my left hand and my thumb on my right hand if driving for more than 30 minutes but it does not cause any problems or pain and I do not experience this doing any other activity.

Injection update

Hello I had the steroid injection in my right hand on the 6th June.
Symptoms have improved, just the odd twinge if I'm holding onto something for a long period of time. But apart from that it's been much better.

Steroid injections

I had steroid injections in both wrists on 30th May 19, 10 minutes after the injection I had severe pain in my left thumb that lasted about 6hours, since then I have had minimal symptoms in either hands, so far so good.

More treatment please

Hi. I had an injection a year ago and the pain and tingling has returned. How do I get an appointment for another injection please?

Feedback on steroid injection

Had my Steroid injection in June.

All went very well. As a type 1 diabetic I was warned that blood glucose levels may be a bit erratic for a while, on the day I had the injection they were high for a few hours but after 2nd day they settled and returned to normal.
I had a little ache in my wrist when bent it etc, might be because I had the injection at 4pm and went to work at 6pm and my work is quite physical but was minor pain and didn’t affect anything.
Late June I had some mild tingling back in my right hand but soon disappeared and have had no symptoms since.

Using splints

Dr Bland. Good morning
I wonder if you can advise please

I have been using the splints you provided me with at night time, religiously, as I was instructed.

I have to say that the results for me personally have been fabulous. From literally the first night I have not had a numb arm at all, not once, and hardly any tingling. During the day the change in sensation has been fabulous too. Just very occasional sensation of very mild tingling.
The issue I have is that it’s now almost 6 weeks since I saw you, and was told only to wear them for this amount of time.
