Had 2 lots injections, pain is back bad as I’ve left too long

Hello I came to see you in April and have had carpal tunnel for years now, you gave me my second lot off injections in April, which were highly effective, until about end off August when tingling and numbness came back..now I’m back to wearing splints every night and sometimes whilst watching tv. Although my left arm feels worse and I’m getting the shooting stabbing pains up arm now my right arm is experiencing lots off problems...feels very weak and can’t grip things properly.and weakness in lifting with right hand.

returning pain

I have stared to get increasing pain again mainly in my right hand, I am also experiencing a lot of pain in my wrist area around the area where you inject, I know this is not related to the injections but it is the best way I have of describing the area. I do not know if this pain is linked to the carpel tunnel pain but it did go away after the last lot of injection I had and is now returning with the usual pain, numbness and tingling.

Have I got RSI

Hi my CTS was treated effectively by steroid injection earlier this year however i am now experiencing major pain in the palm of my hand. It hurts to touch and all fingers feel like the tendons have been shortened. The only comfortable way to hold my hand is in a claw-like position. Is this RSI or could it be linked to my CTS? Thank you

Progress update

Hi Dr Bland

Glad to report the splints I was given when I attended the clinic relieved my symptoms within 3 weeks, but now I’m finding that the numbness in my fingers has returned again despite still wearing the splints every night.

The splints continue to prevent any pain waking me at night which is a relief.

I use a computer for most of the day, the set up is not ideal and the mouse flexes my wrist upwards - is it possible that this might hinder any improvement/contributed to the reoccurrence of my symptoms?

Many thanks

Reoccuring CTS

Hello Dr Bland
It has been sometime since I saw you and had steroid injections however, I remember you telling me to contact you on here instead of returning to my GP should I have more issues. I have been suffering for months now but the past few weeks have been awful. The pain and numbness at night and weakness during the day is unbearable. Please could you advise of way forward.
Thanku
Sharon Usher

Symptoms returning

Hello Dr Bland
I think it was 3 or 4 years ago that I saw you and subsequently had steroid injections in both wrists.
Unfortunately my symptoms have returned. They seem to be mainly in my right wrist, I also have trigger finger in my right middle finger. I'm not sure if the symptoms may be a mixture of carpal tunnel and trigger finger.
I am hoping you are able to see me again to arrange further treatment. Could you please advise the procedure to get an appointment with you.
Thank you for your time
Kind regards
Paul Huskinson

new appointment

Hello Dr Bland I first saw you in June 2012. My original reference number was <edited out>. I had CTS in both wrists, the left was worse and after a number of injection by a male technician it was successful operated on I think in January 2014. I came back in April 2017 and had an injection in my right wrist by Emma Kaile, this gave good relief for about 9 or 10 months but it has steadily got worse over the last 6 months. Can you arrange for me to have another appointment.

Returning symptons

Hi my symptoms have returned quite badly over the last couple of months so would I be able to make an appointment to see you please? Mornings would suit me better (apart from Wed) if that helps.

Kind regards

Request for Steroids FAO Dr Bland

Hello,

Pain following steroid injection

Hi,

My CTS came back in my left hand to a point that wasn't manageable this year. Because it had been 5 years and I wasn't too sure if I could come back via this forum I got my GP to refer me again, they forgot for 6 months and then The referral was to the orthopaedic dept and to be honest by the time I realised I was a bit desperate so went with it.
