Thoughts on potential diagnosis?
Hi, I had a phone consultation with GP last week and he thinks I have CT. Next step is to see a physio for consideration of steroid shots. But I'm not sure my symptoms fully fit CT - wonder if there's anything else that should be considered? My concern is that it'll just be assumed that it's CT now, and I won't get to see anyone who specialises in hands. Questionnaire results 42% likelihood.
Questionnaire completed 232030
Hello I have had nerve conduction tests done at Benenden Hospital 2 days ago and had a verbal report of severe CTS on my R hand and mild on L hand. I have now been advised by an NHS hand therapist of this excellent pathway and have completed the questionnaire. My ID number is 232030 Marian B.
Post steroids
Hi. I had steroids in both wrist last week. Whilst it was uncomfortable at the time, now my cts has been worse since. I now have more numbness in my palm ( feels like hot potatoe!) Is it normal for it to get worse before it gets better? I just need a good nights sleep without numb hands! Thanks
Had CTS 9 months ago...still numb
Happy New Year to all! I had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists 9 months ago...both hands still are quite numb. I recently developed severe pain in my elbow and a pins and needles sensation around the scapula in my back. Could this be related? Six months after the surgery my surgeon had me do a nerve test with the conclusions saying "There is EMG evidence of mild left neuropathy at the wrist" Any ideas?
Possible review please
Hi, I had steroid injections 5 ish years ago (2017/2018),the last few months my right hand has been difficult holding pens, colouring with my son it’s almost like my hand locks, typing at work etc. I’m not sure if I need a review please?
Question about numbness
Hi I haven't been diagnosed with carpal tunnel, in fact I have MS and I have been suffering with numbness in my left hand and fingers but neurologist doesn't know if it's caused by my MS or if I might have carpal tunnel syndrome. My question is about the numbness people experience with carpal tunnel, do you have numbness all the time? And which parts of the hand do you get numbness?
Completed questionnaire
Hi My name is Mrs MM. I have completed the questionnaire I got 71% my reference number for the questionnaire is 230966. .
Completed questionnaire
My surgery told me to notify this forum when I had completed the questionnaire. It gave me a severity score of 97%. Ref no: 230938 Date of completion: 17/10/23 I have been wearing splints on my wrists when necessary for a long time. Activities that involve gripping create painful numbness and tingling in my fingers which lessens over a period of days depending on the activity and duration of the gripping. The power in my grip is lessening as well.
odds of success for revision
Hi everyone, I have had moderately severe Carpal Tunnel on both hands since 2007, unfortunately I had to cancel the ops at that time, and have suffered with it ever since. I Went to casualty Aug 2022 with painful trigger thumb, was sent to Orthopaedic, had nerve conduction tests and registered 6 on right hand, 5 on left. Left hand was operated on in May this year, now worse! Have had new conduction test and is now 6 on both hands. A revision has been suggested after 6 months since original op. What are the chances of success?
6 months post surgery and still have numbness
Hi everyone, I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist on April 4th and on my left wrist April 18th. My surgen performed the WALANT method which I was very pleased with. I still have mild numbness, especially when sleeping, even though I do wear a splint. Is it normal to still feel some numbness after this long? I have seen the surgeon about a month ago and he said my finger dexterity, strength, etc are all good so that this is just taking time. Is this correct? Thank you all for any input. Gary W
