post- CTS surgery pain

I had CTS open surgery 3 months ago. Since then I've experienced tenderness and swelling around the scar and stiffness in my fingers. I still can't make a proper fist.
I play the viola and guitar and find that the day after I have been playing, the pain gets worse. There has been no noticeable improvement for the last few weeks. In fact, I think my hand was less painful in the weeks following the operation. I have tried resting it for a week or so by not playing, but there is still little improvement. How long will I have to leave it before I can play again without aggravating the pain?

Stiffness and slight swelling in fingers almost 5months post Cts op

Hi Jeremy.
I had the op on October and recovered well and fairly quickly and pleased to report it cured my CTS.
I have full motion back in my hand but the full strength i.e. when I grip or lift heavy saucepans is probably around 80% to what is was prior to op.
Alongside this minor issue is the stiffness in my hand generally first thing in the morning and slight puffiness (i can't wear rings I previously wore) in all my fingers. I wonder if the stiffness and puffy fingers will improve with time ?

Tingles In Middle And Index Finger Only

Hi,
Woke up 4 weeks ago with a tingling sensation and some numbness in just my middle and index finger. It’s on the palm side only and on one side of the fingers. I have no other pain or tingles anywhere so cannot tell what’s causing this. Any ideas? I’m a metal worker so my hands do get a lot of use. I also got really cold hands a few weeks ago a couple of weekends in a row. Not sure that would have anything to do with.
I’ve done some simple tests and nothing really makes the symptoms worse. Also in the beginning and had some bad neck/back pains which I thought were muscle knots.

Stiff fingers post surgery 6 months

Hello, I am 6 months post carpal tunnel surgery. Within 2 months I began to notice fingers swelling slightly and less motion. Today I cannot make a fist (maybe 1/2 a fist) and hand cannot fully extend open either. So I am developing a nice "clubbed" hand. I have almost zero strength in the 1/2 fist I can make. Hurts to turn door knobs still.

I have been to PT many times, and work on flexing and stretching nearly daily in warm water. At age 58, I feel like I am loosing my right hand, and hoped to be not 100% after surgery + 6 months, but at least be on the upside and not in decline.
