odds of success for revision

Hi everyone, I have had moderately severe Carpal Tunnel on both hands since 2007, unfortunately I had to cancel the ops at that time, and have suffered with it ever since. I Went to casualty Aug 2022 with painful trigger thumb, was sent to Orthopaedic, had nerve conduction tests and registered 6 on right hand, 5 on left. Left hand was operated on in May this year, now worse! Have had new conduction test and is now 6 on both hands. A revision has been suggested after 6 months since original op. What are the chances of success?

6 months post surgery and still have numbness

Hi everyone, I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right wrist on April 4th and on my left wrist April 18th. My surgen performed the WALANT method which I was very pleased with. I still have mild numbness, especially when sleeping, even though I do wear a splint. Is it normal to still feel some numbness after this long? I have seen the surgeon about a month ago and he said my finger dexterity, strength, etc are all good so that this is just taking time. Is this correct? Thank you all for any input. Gary W

Pain after CTSsteroid injection

I had a steroid injection last week 25/5, and as soon as he put the needle and started injection I had an excruciating pain and pins and needles shoot up my middle finger and up towards my elbow, I jumped he tried to carry on but it did it again only worse, so I got him to stop as he wanted to try again, he removed the needle and prepped another… I refused by this time I was sobbing…. The pain was so bad.

Hi. I completed the questionaire in January but have not had a response. This may be my fault as I did not realise I needed to alert you to the fact I had completed the questonaire.

Since January my symptoms have not improved and are somewhat worse in my right hand. This has caused me to go back to my doctor who again pointed me in the direction of your questionaire.

Ref 229655 Questionnaire completed 17/05/2023. Main symptoms: pain in elbow, numbness of hand when cycling or kayaking, pain and numbness doing anything which requires keeping elbow bent for any period of time, difficulty sleeping due to pain in elbow and numbness.

Carpal Tunnel Release Failure

Beginning in late 2020 or early 2021 I began to experience my fingers becoming numb at night. I never had any pain, only numbness and never doing the daytime. My primary physician indicated that it could be CTS and referred me to a neurologist who performed a nerve conduction survey. The neurologist stated that it was CTS in both hands, the left being worse than the right, and recommended surgery. Endoscopic CTR surgery on my left hand was performed as an outpatient in late January 2023. I returned the day after surgery to have the bandage changed.
