Bi lateral carpal tunnel syndrome
I've been diagnosed with bi lateral carpal tunnel syndrome. Unfortunately I don't have the number scoring system just moderately severe in both hands. I do have the results from nerve testing which I've tried to comprehend better on my own. I've had symptoms off and on for 3+ years. I'm left handed. Left hand is more wrist pain related while right hand is more numbness and tingly in the thumb, index and middle finger. Over night symptoms are always the worst of it. Right hand endiscopic release was 31/1/2018. Left hasn't been scheduled yet.
Failed carpal tunnel/cubital tunnel surgeries?
I'm a 30 year old female, and in August 2016, I had simple cubital tunnel release and carpal tunnel surgery on my right arm/hand. Several months after, my pain/tingling/numbness came back and I then had ulnar nerve transposition surgery in May of 2017. The past few months, my symptoms have worsened again (even worse than pre-surgery). I'm experiencing soreness/pain in my elbow, hand and fingers, and tingling in my palm, thumb, fingers and down my arm (even from my armpit to my elbow sometimes). I also sometimes get a kind of warm feeling in my hand.
Post op recovery
Recently had open release carpal surgery on 06/01/18. No problems post operative, normal swelling etc. CTS symptoms now resolved. But over last week, troubled with pain in wrist, hardened area at base of scar and heel of hand, scar very sensitive and constant feelings of prickling, also hand feels tight and aching. Is this normal at this stage of recovey ?
NCS says "severe" CTS, but symptoms have gone away?
Good morning Dr Bland
I am a man age 84 in good general health, not on any medication. In early November I had severe CTS symptoms in both hands confirmed by the GP who offered me steroid injections. I asked for a NCS first, but by the time this took place on 8 January, the NCS symptoms had become negligible. I was therefore surprised to see the report saying the "evidence was in keeping with a severe CTS in both hands".
distal radius fracture and non-surgical 'C-Trac'
I am having severe CTS debilitation in my left arm/hand and loss of feelings, grip and weakness. It is 15 months since I was injured getting into a parked car as my left arm was crushed and trapped by another car rear reversing. The pain is going up my arm into my shoulder and neck. I am not getting sleep at night this has brought on hypertension. I did not have high blood pressure before this and suffering from flashbacks from the incident causing problems with me travelling as a passenger.
Scar abnormality?
Since having surgery in mid September last year, I am continuing to experience some tingling and tenderness through my wrist and hand. Lifting heavy loads is still not an option.
A friend who had successful surgery many years ago, looked at my scar the other day and declared “that’s not normal“ and told me that the scar should be totally flat.
What is normal? Is having a deep scar indicative of something being awry?

Not expecting any sort of personalised diagnosis, just curious about it really.
None of the scars I’m seeing online look like mine!
Is there anything else I can try to fix this? Frustrated.
Good afternoon,
I am a 28-year-old male with diagnosed CTS in both wrists. I am a lifelong musician (percussionist, piano and guitar). I teach band for a living so holding and playing instruments is a major part of my day, along with typing at the computer. I'm also a pretty regular video gamer at home during the evenings, when I get a chance. These are the only things I can think of that could have aggravated the nerve.
Bilateral CTS, Carpel Tunnel, Cluster Headaches, now neuropathy in the feet...related?
Greetings from the US!
I am a 27 year-old with bilateral carpel tunnel and CTS. I had the ulnar nerve release and transposition on my right (dominant) arm six months ago, and I'm experiencing what seems to be a relapse. I was also misdiagnosed with migraines at 18, but have since been correctly diagnosed with atypical cluster headaches (mine last all day with fluctuations in pain instead of being short-lived). I always thought of them as separate issues, but yesterday, I woke up with a headache I won't soon forget.
Problems after endoscopic CTR
Really wish I found the site sooner. After reading through many of the posts, I’m definitely sorry that I proceeded with carpal tunnel surgery without first having a better understanding what should have been done to confirm the diagnosis as well as what to expect after surgery. I do have a job that requires repetitive movement throughout the day. I was suffering from pain and numbness in the fingers of both hands as well quite a bit of pain in my thumb joint on both hands as well. I went to see a hand specialist.
Healings Time
Do you think my incision area is healing nicely? It is still very tender. I had my sutures taken out 17 days after surgery. Today is post op day 33. Based on what I was reading on the web from the dermatology industry, I started putting Vaseline and Aquaphor on it constantly. Maybe started doing that a week or less after suture removal. I hope I am doing more good than harm. I don’t feel very optimistic after seeing videos of people’s post op surgery one month after. Theirs seem to be healed a lot further.
