Shoulder pain from carpal tunnel?

I have recently been diagnosed with carpal tunnel in my left wrist. Now that being said I have had four surgeries on my left shoulder in the past two years. My Dr who seems to not care I am still having issues with my shoulder. He says the pain in my shoulder and weekness in my shoulder is due to the carpal tunnel. Does anyone else out there have issues with shoulder pain and weekness due to the carpal tunnel? Thanks for any input.

What is normal post carpal tunnel surgery?

What is normal post carpal tunnel surgery? I am seeking some guidance as to what is normal post carpal tunnel surgery. Sixteen days ago I had 'open release carpal tunnel surgery' on my right hand. The decision was made to do my right hand first as there was evidence of muscle wasting at the base of the palm. The left hand is due to be done mid February 2019. Nerve conduction tests were undertaken on both hands with NCT results indications in the 'moderate range.' In the first evening (post morning surgery) I had burning pain radiating to my fingers.

Pregnancy, bronchitis and CTS

Dr Bland a couple of years ago you gave great advice and insight on my own CTS and steroid injection (I am leading a normal life now). I thought I would now post on behalf of a good friend who is unable to do so as heavily pregnant (due by Christmas) and down with bronchitis and confirmed CTS in both hands.

She has a lot of fluid retention and has put on 20Kgs. She is spending a long time on her devices too, and as it turns out changing head position seems to help sometimes.

Cortizone vs Surgery?

How effective is cortizone injection compared to surgery?

If I got 30% improvement from cortizone, can I expect more from surgery?

Inceased Symptoms After Surgry

I had CTS release surgery in June. It is now October and I have more severe issues than before and regret the surgery. My pointer finger is completely numb at the tip, with less numbness towards that base of that finger. There are multiple degrees and places of numbness from my pointer finger and thumb. If I had to describe it, it's like a baseball mitt and the space between the thumb and pointer finger that's kind of a mesh, is where I am experiencing issues. It's hard to describe.

CTS & joint synovitis

Hi,

I did CTS endoscopic release 5 months ago.
The sharp pains went away, full strength returned.

However I notice dull pain in the wrist when I do some repetitive stuff or just hold things for quite some time.

The ultrasound did not show tapped nerve, but they found wrist joing synovitis.

Could it be a complication after CTS release? Or it's just a second desease that took place along with my CTS? I had done ultrasound before the surgery and it did not show any synovitis.

Please let me know, thanks!

Letrozole side effect CTS

After a quadrantectomy because of ILC I got hormone therapy with Letrozole. A few months later both my hands began to tingle and feel numb. Especially in the night. CTS was diagnosed and I could apply for an operation. Whereas my mother suffered from CTS I supposed that the cause might be genetic but later I learned that rather a lot of women suffer from CTS as a side effect of Letrozole. However only on websites which deal with cancer and never on websites which deal with CTS, which wonders me.

any alternative to surgery?

Hi all, I've been in pain with this for a few years, went to the consultant and he gave an electric shock that I couldn't tolerate. He then said unless I could handle the shocks he wouldn't be able to diagnose properly. And said if i didn't get treated I could lose the use of my hand. Since then it is much worse, hurts to carry shopping, use computer mouse, gripping anything is painful. Numb for a lot of the day and now pain in my shoulder. Are there any alternatives to surgery? I bought a splint but it pressed into my wrist and hurt more. Any advice is appreciated thanks.

Op on the other hand
