How bilateral ECV confirmed Ulnar Nerve Compression and bilateral symptoms-only CTS-like got better/resolved
Hi all,
As I found a lot of useful information on this forum, and got a reply from Jeremy on a post of me a year ago I decided to post a follow-up (for the inital post please view one of the cubital tunnel syndrome posts, I think it was started by "makeson"). The most important info is that I had bilateral nightly numbness in all my fingers, no pain involved and no daytime symptoms.
I did not want to get surgery but I did the following:
Arms hard and lumpy after CTS
After my mums CTS on both wrists her arms have turned very hard and lumpy. It is not painful but after 7 months since the surgery they are hard like a rock up to her elbows (so elbows down to wrist).
Has any one had this happen or know of anyone who has experienced this? The Dr who did the surgery is shocked and has never seen anything like it. Appreciate any feedback.
carpal tunnel advise
Dear Doctor,
Could you please give me comments one my current state of wrist. I had burning aches and cutting pains in both wrists, fatigue and pain in fingers. No numbness though. It started when I overused my hands playing video games. Plus I work a lot with the computer, use the smart phone.
Had tried NSAID, rest (up to 2-3 weeks) and then steroids, it eased the pain but did not cleared it out. I don't have pain when I rest, but do have it when I work with the hands and fingers and use fine motor skills.
Diagnosed with CTS and confused
Hi this site is one of the first ones i found while searching for CTS and i found more help here than from my doctors. My syndrome started almost 2 years ago starting with numbing feet then hand. I visited the doctors some months ago ,at first the Neurologist told me it's all in my head but i had an EMG and the doctor who performed it said i have carpal tunnel syndrome on my right hand but she said nothing about my left hand and the main Neurologist just recommends acupuncture which the insurance doesn't cover.
Post op numbness
Had right hand carpel tunnel release 5 days ago on Tuesday Feb 12. I was told I had severe cts by nerve testing. I have been moving my wrist and can almost completely make a fist. Have had almost no pain and mostly normal feeling since the freezing wore off untill today. This morning around 10 am my fingers and entire palm have fallen asleep. Pins and needles and has been this way with no reliefe since. It is now after 6pm. Is this something to be concerned about? Or should the numbness go away? My Dr is closed untill Tuesday.
Thanks.
Still suffering after cortinsone injection
I've been a suffering of Carpel tunnel for several years..I got diagnosed via gp and prescribed naproxen. They did he at first but I'd say in the last couple of years I've suffered more. I had cortisone injection over two years ago which at the time relieved syptoms but gradually wore off. I had it re done again last Nov bit since they symptoms seem a lot worse. Come night time my had feels so weak and tight. Movememt is very restricted and my little finger get numb.
I've also been experiencing pain jist above my left shoulder blade and when I rotate my shoulder it grinds.
Carpal tunnel During day only
Do you know if you can have carpal tunnel when it only bothers you during th day! The math ngling and pain is never when I am sleeping!
Unbearable pain
I broke the fibula, about 27mm above the lateral malleolus. I had a martial arts accident where I was thrown very powerfully by one of our colleagues. My foot stayed planted on the floor, while my upper body rotated.
I took an X-ray and at that time, it showed that all the bits were pretty much in the right spot. Hence the orthopedic surgeon did not decide to operate. My leg was covered with plaster and I was asked to rest for a week.
Cubital
It's been over a year since I've posted about my CTS. I had surgery on both hands and pretty much all good now. My question is about cubital and hoping you might have some input. It's hard to say for sure, but I think having CT release helped my ulnar nerve issues or at least in the beginning. It's been a little over a yr since I had the CT release. Several months ago I was starting to have a lot of problems with my elbows. I tried wearing my elbow splints and even rolling out the muscle on the top of my elbow and the tricep area. It didn't seem to help enough.
Issues after CTS
Has anyone had issues with their wrist/hand since their CTS? I had CTS 5 years ago and my hand has never been the same. The numbness and tingling went away after my surgery, but I have had increasing pain in my wrist over the years. It feels like it is broken when I move it. I also have pain in my upper hand and have trouble holding things. My ortho (not the same ortho that did the surgery, as we have since moved) did an xray, mri and blood work. He isn't sure what is causing my extreme pain and weakness and has referred me to a Rheumatologist.
