Palm pain

I know I got this problem from my job. I just left the job 2 weeks ago because my work made it worse. It made me yell out.. I slice meat and cheese in a deli. I took the survey. I have a few other situtions not mentioned in survey and wonder if others have this also...... When I push myself up on the armchair, on the edge of tub, and hold grocery bags it causes intense pain in the muscle in my palm directly below my thumb. Are others experincing this sensation?

Do I have CTS?

Hello,

exactly three weeks ago I awoke (in a hotel) and couldn't close my right hand, kind of an electric shock in the middle
of the movement preventing to go further; also for example it was impossible to open a knob-door with my right hand.
This complete impossibility of closing the right hand occurred only once since then, but in the morning it is there
in a weaker form. After one week, tingling and partial numbness started in the thumb/index/middle finger of the right
hand, and after two weeks the left hand started showing the same symptoms. Today (three weeks later) it seems

Post injection work

I am having trouble getting the time off work I need post injection. I work in a hostel doing a variety of manual tasks. One of my duties is on reception. Will using a computer and writing be too much work the day after the injection?

8 months post op - should I still be feeling like this?

I had my first CT surgery on my left hand in Oct 2011 and the my right in Jan 2012. All seemed fine initially, but now the pain/tingling/numbness has returned :-( My consultant discussed my left hand with me at the final consultation when I told him the tips of my thumb and forefinger were still numb. He measured how much the nerve should have "grown" back and deduced that the nerve should have been at its fullest capacity and anything I have been left with, it basically it!!! If I lean on my left elbow, my middle and last two fingers go dead.

9 Days after op

I don't want to bore you but here is my progress. I am sleeping well , the incision is healing nicely but sore when opening fingers fully. I have full movement in all fingers but have slight stiffness in my fingers. I have the same stiffness in my other hand
which could be my Dupytren's contracture which I have in both hands. I have had no numbness in the operated hand, so far so good.

a very good wrist support/splint for women

Hi, I've tried loads of wrist supports/braces/splints and this is the comfiest and best fit for a small wrist, especially due to the fact that the inside is cushioned with memory foam, but there is still a strong metal splint in it. It can be worn all night quite comfortably. The Wellgate perfect fit wrist support costs about £12 at major online retailers, if you do a search for the company/product name. Here is a picture. Hope this helps!

strange development after CTS surgeries

I was a hairstylist for 15 years, mostly doing haircuts.

My profession led me to bilateral CTS surgeries in early 2011. Since then an EMG test shows that my CTS is back in both hands after only one year.

My orthopedic surgeon wants to perform a second CTS surgery on my right hand first and then on the left one. He says that this time it will be a longer surgery about 40 minutes, and he’s going to build some space in the wrist so that the CTS does not return. Of course he is not making any guaranties. And I have not decided that I want to have this surgery.

I've had the op.

Well I've had the op. the procedure was really quick, less than 10 minutes.I have taken 2 co-codamol tablets on Saturday and 2 paracetamol yesterday so I have not had much pain. I removed the outside dressing and whilst cleaning my hand had a shooting pain in the wrist. Hopefully a one off. I am going to watch the tennis this week and not push my luck.

Post CTS op.

I am having the op. on my left hand Saturday 23rd June. I am right handed and am supposed to play tennis on Sunday the 1st July. I would like to know if this would be possible or totally stupid.
