Use of gabapentin to treat pain of cts

I appear to have cts but wonder if one of the symptoms includes the fingers becoming claw like and unable to straighten. An xray indicated some joint inflammation.
I was also put on gAbapentin in December to reduce the pain from the cts in both hands. By January my right shoulder began to feel pain, this progressed to my left and now my knees. This is really bad at night.
Blood tests indicate there is no underlying rheumatism but the pain is severe. The GP has suggested I now come of gb to see if the additional joint pains go.

Post injection right hand.

I finally got my injection after paying privately on Wednesday 21st march. I had pain in the lower thumb area when the doctor inserted the needle which then shot to the end of the thumb after he adjusted the needle. After another adjustment he then injected the steroid. Since this procedure, the CTS symptoms have improved greatly. I have, in fact, slept really well for the last 3 nights wearing both splints. However, I am experiencing a shooting pain down to the end of the thumb which was the same pain as during the injection and my thumb is sore if I shake my hand.

carpal tunnel surgey next wednesday

i have had carpal tunnel for 10 years now .numbness tingling in the fingers .burning thumb and palm pain at night.now pain has gone to elbow and bicep, tingling away constant pain.went to hand specialist got the test . the one were they put an electirc shock into your hand and triggers your thumb or index finger to twitch. my results on that test was almost 11. the doctor said i got carpal tunnel severe. so im off to surgery next week. is this the right thing or should i try cortizone injections????

Danger of confusion over symptoms

Having looked at information on various websites, and now having done the questionnaire, I am concerned that other people may have symptoms like mine and think that they do not have CTS. -
My questionnaire came out at 10/14% probability, but I most certainly have it, my nerve conduction test showed no measurable function in the median plus muscle weakness (don't have the figures on that), and I need surgery on both hands.

Playing tennis with CTS

Am I doing the wrong thing playing tennis with CTS. I sometimes take Ibrufen but lately if I put ice under a sweatband and between two bands this helps without the painkiller.

CTS or B12 deficiency

I attended my GP today regarding my tingling and pain in both hands. The pain wakes me up several times a night and I also have symptoms during the day. He said that my symptoms were giving mixed messages, as I get tingling on all my fingers and my palm and back of fingers too, whereas with carpal tunnel syndrome it should just affect one half of my hand. He decided to test me for vitamin b12 to see if the tingling is due to this. I don't have tingling in my feet.

Does the fact that I experience symptoms over almost all my hand rule out CTS?

CTS and Dupytrons Contracture

I've got both in both hands. I am waiting for surgery on left hand which should be in July 2012. I am getting lots of stiffness
in fingers and getting worse each day. I don't know which is causing it,the CTS or Dup. I am trying to get cortisone injection for right hand but having seen three GP'S in our practice, have been given diuretics and depression tablet amitriplin. I am going to see GP again next Wednesday to try to push for injection. It's going to be a long spring and summer.

When i took off splint had quite a lot of numbness for about 20 minutes ..Will continue to use splint but i would like to have injection before i have any surgery if possible , sorry to change my mind . numbness/pain and swellling in middle/ring fingers after surgery

I had open surgery 2 months ago and have had numbness/pain and swelling in middle/ring fingers. This was certainly not the problem prior to surgery. My doctor appears amazed that I have this problem since he states mostly 100% of his thousands of patients are satisfied "happy campers" with their results. I am very frustrated and am having a difficult time figuring out whether or not this is a permanent condition that I will now have to accept. Please let me know if you have any suggestions on what I could do to better this dreadful situation. Thanks

What to expect after a Carpel Tunnel Release Operation.....How quickly do things improve

Update on my progress

Carpel Tunnel Syndrome was agreed upon and I had the operation on my left hand on the 18/1

Bandages were removed on the 23/1 and stitches removed the 30/1

At no time post the operation have I needed to take any pain relief
