What next

HAD my nerve tests done today and no cts was diagnosed which I am happy with, but I still have no diagnosis to my symptoms so what happens next.
The very nice nurse said that the results would go to my G.P. so can I assume I just have live with it or will I be put through other types of tests to hopefully find what's going on .

Post op

Had surgery yesterday but today I have got tingling and numbness in some of my fingers. Is this normal until have healed properly as I thought that after surgery all the symptoms would go?

Vicky

no improvment!

Had both hands injected 3 weeks ago with no improvement :(

The left hand seems to be getting worse

Surgery

Had surgery today and it went really well, felt nothing during the surgery, in a bit of pain now, mainly top of arm, spreading upto shoulder, don't know if this is normal or not? Feel very nauseous this evening, don't know if it's from the local anaesthetic or not? Or whether it's just a coincidence or not.

Next Stage? Anna Witham

I had the cortisone injection a few weeks ago and it was helpful but in the last few days all the night time symptoms have returned even though i have gone back to using the splint. When I saw you last in August you said the condition had worsened and I would need surgery; as I understood it then the injection was for temporary relief. What should I do now? The pain is pretty grim and my GP has prescribed gabapentin. Anna Witham

Relapse after injection

Dear Dr Bland I had my first injection for Right hand CTS on 22nd July 2013. It helpd a lot for a while but the night pain has returned and is now considerable. I am back using the splint at night and taking pain killers which are not at all effective. When I saw you prior to the injection you said we shoud consider surgery as the nerve conduction test had shown a decrease in function. Can you put me on the waiting list now or do I need to come and see you again before that? Anna Witham d.o.b. 27 06 38

Splints

Can someone please tell me where I can get a spare pair of splints? I have one for each hand already but when I hand wash them they take ages to dry so an without them for a couple of days.

Vicky

Update on symptoms and repeat question

On 20/09 I posted, as requested, an update as to how I was getting on with my splints you gave me. I said then that in spite of difficulty in sleeping with them, they did seem to help the night-time symptoms, but I continue to have a problem with numbness and tingling during the day. I asked if it were possible that the thumb spica splints I wear due to severe osteoarthritis of both thumbs were causing these daytime problems.

Carpal tunnel op

Not sure if this is the right page to contact you Dr Bland, but my plans have changed, and I could now have the carpal tunnel op done anytime after 1st January 2014.thanks, Anne

Return of Symptoms in left hand

I saw you on March 11th this year and had an injection in my left wrist in April at Wye Surgery. About 3 weeks ago I was woken up with burning pain, pins and needles in my left hand. The thumb, index and middle finger. Started to wear my brace again helped for a few nights but now doesn't do anything. Every night it is getting worse. Leaving me with a dull ache up to my elbow. Fingers swell and tingling all the time across the whole hand also my finger joints feel very stiff. Injection haven't lasted as long as I hoped.

Regards

Ann
