Post injection testing

Dear Dr Bland,

I had a steroid injection in my right wrist on July 10th, following a consultation with you on May 23rd. This was the 3rd injection in my wrist and you said you would be interested in testing it after the treatment. The severity score was 4. After the injection the symptoms improved, though numbness continued in my thumb and forefinger for several weeks. My hand feels fine now, so if you still want to carry out a test I would be happy to attend clinic.

Best Regards

Winston Waller

Return of CTS

Dr Bland
Both wrists were injected in November 2012. The right wrist is still ok, but the left wrist is now causing problems again, and is a lot worse on your self assessment test, than previously. Do I need to return to my GP for referral or an it be done on your forum.

Wrist splints

I tried them last night... Put them on for a couple of hours before bed whilst watching telly. Went to bed but took them off after about an hour as I couldn't go to sleep with them. At about 3.30 I woke with pins and needles in my right hand and lower arm so put one back on. Slept till about 5.30 and the other arm had gone to sleep! Put the other one on and slept till 7.00. Hands and arms have been a lot better during the day with no more swelling in my hands first thing. Made an appointment to see the physio on Monday 28th

carpal tunnel syndrome

Dr Blaine i came to see you on Tuesday Th October and you gave me carpal splints to wear in bed at night but i have had to keep them most days as the pain in my right hand is very painful and having pins and needles in my right and left hands all the time and is not going away i am getting used to wearing the splints and have tried to use my computer but have to stop after 10 mins because of the pain also still having pins and needles at night and also every other nights my sleep is still disrupted and also the pain has travelled to my shoulders and neck and my doctor gave me anti-inflammatory

Enquiry - I have pain again after 2 steroid injections

Hi I have been trying to get in touch via the staff at the K&C but have had no response.
I had a second steroid injection in both hands last year but they have been increasingly painful in the last few months, to the extent that I lose feeling in them at night after suffering pain. This is keeping me awake too.
I have a 2 yr old so not using my hands is not an option.
I need another appointment I think to review my options available, so would it be possible to be seen soon please?

Steriod Injection

Had my steroid injection to the right hand on 11/10/13......Just needed to know as to what improvement I should be noticing by now.......Still seem to have a lot of restriction in elbow and shoulder which can be quite painful at times. Also the hand/wrist seems to be giving me a lot of discomfort at the moment to.....

Kind Regards

Christine Griffin.

CTS surgery

Dear Dr Bland

Things are always complicated .... I was referred to a surgeon at St Saviours Hospital as I have a very painful left wrist. - I thought I had broken it! I have a ganglion cyst in my left wrist and a portion of a bone that needs to be shaved off and some soft tissue to be removed. This procedure is to be done under general anesthetic on the 16th of November 2013. Perhaps it would be best if Mr Oliver did the carpel operation at the same time? I don't think I would like to have two procedures in the space of two weeks. Please advise me.

Many thanks and kind regards

Bandages

Told have got to keep bandage on for two weeks but because of the position where the bandage is it keeps coming off. Any ideas as what to do?

Vicky

Pain

I had op on Friday last week but my hand is more painful as the days go by, I thought it would start feeling a bit better by now. Is this normal?

Enquiry reference Hand splints

Hi Dr Bland
I came to your clinic on 8th October and you gave me a diagnosis, I am level 3 in both hands. I was fitted for splints to wear at night. I have been doing this but unfortunately i cant continue on the right hand as i have been waking just after a couple of hours and my fingers are swollen and the pain is unbearable, it takes me ages to get the feeling back and its very painful whilst it is coming round. What would you suggest and this is making my hand worse.
Look forward to your response
Regards
Rachel Robinson
