Can injection affect period?

hello
had injections a week or so ago....so far so good. Was just wandering if the steroid injections could mess with menstrual cycle?

First Injection

Had first injection in my right hand yesterday afternoon and noticed immediate beneficial effect ie. stabbing and burning pains calming down. I was able to sleep at last wearing a splint and without any painkillers. Today 21hrs after the injection, no pain as before however finger joints still stiff, in particular the second and third fingers which are still slightly swollen and painful when moved. I am unable to close the hand into a fist at present. Have taken some ibuprofen tablets and ibuprofen gel applied to finger joints.

my CTS has got worse

Morning Dr Bland I came to see you about 2 months ago with my problem, you gave me 2 wrist straps to see if it would ease it up. Unfortunatly my right hand has gotten worse, i have had restless sleep for the past week or so and the pain never goes. My whole arm has been going numb aswell. If you could get back to me that would be great

Surgery Request

I have now had 2 rounds of injections in both hands and sadly I feel the symptoms have returned and they are worse now than before.Would it be possible to put my name in the list for surgery? My hands are getting weaker and it is really affecting my music and my everyday chores.

Return of symptoms

Hi Dr Bland,

I came to see you shortly after the birth of my son in June/July this year, at which point the decision regarding treatment was to see what happened.

Impressive

I am incredibly impressed by this website about CPS, which is most informative, and particularly by the Forums. The ability to ask the consultant a question and the speed of the reply is excellent, even if all you want is reassurance. I can't say how grateful I am for all the extra help and advice. Thank you.

1 year after having the injection I'm having bad pains

I visited your clinic on the 8th November 2012 and I had the injection in my left wrist. Everything was fine afterwards, but this last month or so I have been suffering from bad pain in my left wrist, hand and arm the splint seems to make it worse. I'm taking pain killers to get through the day as trying to grip things is quite painful. I visited my doctor today and he told me to get in touch myself so that's what I am doing. Please can you help me. Tina Horrocks.

CTS Trial - Therapeutic Ultrasound

During my appointment on 11th November you offered me the option of participating on the latest CTS Trial @ Canterbury. Having had some time to think about it and as my symptoms at present are mild I would like to go on the trial. Look forward to hearing from you shortly.

using splint

Hello Jeremy, I saw you last Monday and would like to update you about use of splint.
It seems to help wearing at night was a bit uncomfortable for the first night, and the first three days
there was no pain, numbness., occasionally I woke up with tingling in fingers but not as bad as before.
How long will I need to wear the splint? Thank you very much. chris

Ethical safe diagnosis and time wasted

I recently consulted with my GP regarding strange tingling in my fingers and a definite numbness in 6 fingers and both thumbs.
I thought it was CPS (never want to make useless appointments with doctor) My doctor said she thought I was wrong and suggested it could be circulation problems. (family history) She said she would refer me to a specialist.

I received a telephone call from the GP surgery to tell me that I could not have an appointment but had to ware splints for 8 weeks before anybody would see me.
