A month on after steroid injection......

Been suffering CT for two years since the birth of my son. Finally got diagnosed properly and went for the steroid injection a month ago - it's worked wonderfully and I can now sleep comfortably without my wrist splint! I occasionally suffer a slight tingling but this is easily shaken off.

So impressed and relieved it worked for me!

Nail varnish?

I have an appt for testing next month, and I thought I read somewhere that no nail varnish should be worn? Having checked my letter it only mentions rings/bracelets, can you please confirm as I currently have gels on my nails which I would need to have taken off.
Thanks.

3 monthly followup

I had cts surgery in the last week of October 2012 and haven't as yet received the forms to fill in to document the progression 3 months on from surgery - will I be getting them soon? Just a query, not a hassle!! Thanks

Recurrence of symptoms

I have recently experienced a rapid deterioration in my right hand which is leading to severe pain at times and numbness/tingling. How can I arrange another injection please?

My carpal tunnel

Good morning, i was advised to go onto this site to contact Doctor Jeremy Bland regarding further treatment for my carpal tunnel. Ive had 3 injections with Dr. Beach that have all worked but my last test was in May 2011 so ive been told i need another test and cant have any more injections until then and its getting worse, very painful without the injection. please can you advise on how i can get an appt as ive been trying to get this sorted since last September and getting nowhere, Thanks in advance.

Should I postpone an operation if I am not in pain?

Dear Dr Bland,

I hope you had a restful festive season. All the best for 2013!

I had a 3rd injection in my right wrist in October 2012 after having experienced a great deal of pain in both right wrist and arm. Whilst the 2nd injection (carried out in July 2012) did not help for more than a couple weeks, this last injection seems to have worked and I have had absolutely no pain since it was done. I have only experienced a little numbness during a few nights but I think that has been more from sleeping on my right hand than anything else.

last update after 4th treatment

Good morning

i thought i would let you know how things was going, i had anoth injection in my left hand about 3 wks ago now, i know you asked me to update after 6 but the symptoms are back AGAIN.

in both hands this time too. not sure what the next stage will be, as you did advise that i shouldnt really have any more injections>

Possibility of CTS symptoms arising from taking beta blocker bisoprolol fumarate (cardicor)

Good afternoon, Dr Bland.
The background (somewhat long-winded, I'm afraid!) to my question is as follows:
I am a 65 year old woman who has had Type 2 diabetes for the last 7 years, controlled to date by diet and exercise only.
Early in 2012, I was found to have high blood pressure and was prescribed an ace inhibitor - Ramipril tablets which proved to be suitably effective, even at the relatively low dose of 2.5 mg per day. I was also told to reinstate taking an aspirin of 75 mg daily, as previous opinion as to its continued use had now altered. All seemed to be well.

genetic CTS

I have genetic carpal tunnel syndrome which was diagnosed when I was 18 months old by a paediatrician and a neurophysiologist at St Thomas's Hospital in London. I am now 21. This was monitored every six months by EMG tests. I had bilateral carpal tunnel surgery at Great Ormond Street Hospital when I was six years old as by then the EMG studies showed marked deterioration.
