Carpal - Tunnel to right hand

Hello Dr Bland . You saw my mother Pearl Baker a while ago regarding carpal tunnel in both wrists which she went on to have steroid injections . On her second visit to you, you said that if she has any further problems to contact you via this forum It now appears that the problem has come back in her right wrist only and would like some advise as to what we should do now.. Many thanks for your time and i look forward to hearing from you Barbara Kingham Pearl Bakers daughter

Operation on left hand?

I returned my post op progress questionnaire before Christmas after operation on my right hand by Dr Rine in April 2012. Since the injection to my left wrist in your surgery in February, symptoms are beginning to return although not yet as bad as they were before. If an operation is likely to have to happen eventually, then I would prefer to get it 'done and dusted', unless you think injections will continue to be successful ad infinitum? If it is to be the operation, then it would be most helpful to get an appointment for this either in February or May as we travel quite a lot.

Appointment information lost

I've misplaced my appointment letter regarding per op and op times and place with dr rine, I know that the per op is on water day the 12th but do not have the time or place. Please if you can help.

additional symptoms

The questionnarre did not mention a 'burning sensation' as a symptom. I get a such a sensation over my whole hand during periods of pain. Also I am experiencing neck pain and aches in my elbow and upper arm. Are these typical symptoms?

Forthcoming operation

Hello Dr Bland

Carpel Tunnel Injection

Just to inform you that I had an injection in my left wrist last Wednesday (2 Jan) and since then, the pins and needles seem to have stopped at night, so fingers crossed it has worked this time! I will keep you updated if it starts to wear off again in the coming weeks/months.

Progress update following operation

I thought this might help the general discussion and anyone who is considering the op.. The operation was done on December 15th, 3 weeks ago. The team very kind and efficient. Brilliant surgeon and very neat scar. Was advised to start exercises straight away, and was given a sheet. Very numb to start with . No pain unless I forgot and did something I shouldn't have.
However- night time waking with so called pins and needles numbness had straight away completely disappeared - hurrah!

Wrist splint

I have been wearing the wrist splint since I see you on the 10 December. I still wake up during the night and the pain and tingling is more severe now. Instead of the middle and ring finger being the main ones that hurt, the pain now includes the thumb and index finger. I also find it takes longer for the pain to ease in the morning to enable me to do things. I am going to try the next few nights without the splint to see if there is a differance.

Return of symptoms

My symptoms have returned in my right hand with a vengeance. Numbness and pain most of the night and numbness with weakness in the daytime. Can I come in to discussion options?
Nadia

Second operation
