Phenomenon

Cannot explain this but before my last appointment on 19th Aug 2024 I was in a lot of pain mainly from my Right hand at night. Tests confirmed my left hand was still grade 3 but my right hand had increased from grade 3 to grade 5 The advice was for another injection in my left hand to reduce the pain but for Surgery now to my right hand and I agreed to this course of action. The surgery to my right hand is now booked and just a few weeks to wait.

Update

Dear Dr Bland
An update re my appointment 7 weeks ago. I wore the splint for 6 weeks as instructed and have left it off this week. So far so good.
My thanks to the clinic team for sorting out my problem so promptly.

Needing third injection

Hello,

I am in need of another steroid injection. This will be my third one. I had one over a year ago but then I got pregnant so I have had to wait until my babies have been born and to stop breastfeeding. Now that I have I am real need of an injection. The pain is becoming uncomfortable and holding my twins (now 16weeks old) they are getting very heavy and it’s putting alot more stress on my right wrist again. Please can I book an appointment for as soon as possible. I would have the surgery but while my babies are still little I think the best choice is injections again for now.

Feedback from steroid injection

Hi. Just to report that I had a steroid injection in my right wrist just over a week ago. I had immediate relief that evening and am no longer kept awake with tingling and numbness. I had a slight aching to my wrist the following day but that didn’t bother me too much and soon disappeared. I continue to have regular tingling in my right wrist and what feels like slight numbness to the tip of my middle finger constantly and mildly in the ring finger. I have been resting as much as possible and splinting at night which helps.

Still no change

Dear Dr Bland
I have just taken my annual assessment and the results are exactly as last year. So it's good news once again. Thank you.

Severity assessment.

Please can I have an appointment for my left hand ? Can I arrange it on this forum ?

Left hand severity assessment.

Good morning, the symptoms in my left hand are returning again. Is it possible to arrange an assessment appointment?

New pain onset

Good Morning,
I have completed the questionnaire.

My left hand is much worse.
my carpal tunnel has returned late June.
The first sign was being woken with my left hand pins needles and tingling.
Gradually getting worse with each day where it is happening during the day.
It seems to be traveling up my left arm with a dull ache.
it hurts to open anything, wash up, put dishes away and on occasions i get a pinch in the base of my two middle fingers of my left hand and on occasions my right hand.
