For Canterbury patients
Injection appointment
Dr Bland, attended the appointment today at New Hayes Bank and was given the injection in left hand. So can cancel appointment for tuesday. Thank you for sorting this matter out for me so quickly. The wider NHS needs to look at how you run your clinics!
Treatment
Six weeks post Carpal Injection all well with right hand
Carpal Tunnel Update
Name: Sheila Tyzack - D.O.B. 20.09.44
7 weeks ago I was given splints for left and right hand and injection into my right wrist. I was asked to let you know after this time how my symptoms were. I have updated my "questionnaire" on line in my account for you to read. I await your comments. Thank you.
Returning symptoms
Hi My symptoms have gradually returned over the last few days, both my hands are dead when waking, although I haven’t used the splints at night yet. I have today completed a new self diagnosis questionnaire.
The last time I had an injection on my right wrist was March and my left was sometime before that.
Would I be able to have an appointment for more injections on both hands if this is possible as previous injections have left me symptom free with no side effects.
CFTS returned after injection in sept
The carpel tunnel in my right hand has returned quickly after the steroid injection in september what are the next steps to be be referred back to Canterbury CTS clinic? It has also increased in pain in the left side too. The pain is more or less constant. Caroline Harris.
Carpal tunnel
Hi I came to the clinic on 16.10.17 - I tested positive for CTS - was given injections of Kenalog in both wrists and also provided with hand splints to wear nightly. Within a couple of weeks the pain in my hands and arms had reduced significantly and now 5.5 weeks later that pain has more or less disappeared. I was also finding it difficult to lift objects (water filled kettle) one handed - this is now much better.
Rrturning symptoms
Morning Dr Bland,
I'm suffering symptoms in both hands once again, more severe in the right & I'm splinting again. I last saw Emma for an injection in the right in July which worked well as usual. Could I come up for re testing please, I expect the results will be as disappointing as usual! No doubt your clinic is very busy & I'm away 9th - 17th November but I would be grateful if I can book anyway please. I have completed a new severity questionnaire.
Many thanks, Caroline
Pain after steroid Injection
Hi I had a steroid injection last week and the last couple of days I have horrendous pain in my wrist. The pain I’ve had this am brought tears to my eyes I only slightly knocked it when I hugged my daughter.
Is this normal? Thanks
6 weeks after injections
I received steroid injections into both wrists on my appointment on 31 August 2017. So entering 6 weeks feedback as requested.
Immediate symptoms:
Within a couple of hours of injections both hands had swollen (it looked liked I had borrowed King kongs!). Immediate pain relived by paracetamol. Swelling took 2 days to subside, but no reoccurrence
Flash burns - On both arms just above the elbow joint - these took 3 days to disappear.
Follow on:
Re-occurence of symptoms
I had steroid injections in both wrists on 13th April 2016, with quite good results. However, for the last two months I have been getting severe pain again in both wrists. The right wrist is the most painful of the two. I have been wearing my wrist supports but they are not helping at present. Would it be possible to try another round of steroid injections, or would I need another consultation with you again?
I look forward to hearing from you.
Barry
