returning pain

I haven't been seen for a while but I have increasing pain returning to both hands and wrists again, I get a lot of painful numbness and a lot of pain when driving. Not sure what to do.

Ongoing symptoms

Good Morning. I have ongoing symptoms in both hands - particularly severe in the left hand. I have had two injections in each wrist and once the benefit of these wore off the return of symptoms was really a shock to the system! I would like to discuss options and perhaps be reassessed and would be grateful for an appointment.

Thanks

Splints not helping

Hi

I have tried sleeping with splints on both hands but after initial success the pain has returned in both wrists causing a real problem sleeping. I’m not sure what to do next

Thanks
Joe

Frustrated!

So I've been wearing splints during the night, every night, since my appointment about 5 weeks ago. Wake up in the night with, particularly, my right hand numb and on fire. Can't win. On fire without splints, on fire with. So many sleep deprived nights now making things worse. Wear the splints and then, driving to work, my hand becomes tingly and numb. Loss of strength and feeling in my fingers. Left hand not so bad but pain in my upper arm. If I lean on my desk, lift my arm and have pain. Don't know if this is related? Finding this so hard to cope with.

Post Op feedback

I have received your follow up questionnaire today. The earliest I can see my Dr is 8th March, so will return form post that appointment. While symptoms have been reduced in my right hand, my left hand now seems to be overcompensating, and there are different aches in my right hand. Whether these are as a result of the op or have been masked by CTS symptoms I will discuss with GP. Jess Murray

Return of symptoms

Dear Emma,

I hope this email finds you well.

The last injection in the right wrist has worn off. I now find that I am symptomatic most of the day and am woken up every night with the discomfort.

Tingling sensation has increased in thumb and three fingers with more discomfort in the palm.

I think the time has come to take the option for surgery to relive the symptoms. I am concerned about the recovery period and would like some information as to what I can and can’t do following the procedure.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,

Paget Silvester

Symptom Severity Score

Hi, I submitted a new symptom severity score on the 15th January 2018 and was just checking up to see that you have received it. Thanks.

Steroid injection follow up

Dear Dr Bland
I have completed another online questionnaire following my injection on 18/12/2017.
My sleep is greatly improved which is wonderful, thank you.
I had some "twanging"sensations on using my left hand in the weeks afterwards. At present I get mild numbness quite often during the day but this is nothing to the pain numbness and tingling I was getting before this second injection. I also feel my grip has improved a little in my left hand.
I know have an appointment to see an orthopaedic surgeon regarding the triggering middle finger of my right hand.yours sincerely Bozy

2weeks after steroid injection

I had a steroid injection on 18th Jan, used a splint for 4 nights and so far have not had any night time pain and pins & needles, I only have an occasional dull ache at the base of my thumb which is easily ignored. So far so good.

Week after injections

Hello
Is it normal to still be experiencing pain and pins and needles a week after please ?
