Hi Dr Bland,

I was diagnosed with Carpel on Monday 26th June and was given a steroid injection into both wrists, last night and today I have got really hot arms especially in the front of my arms by my elbows and just wanted to know if these are normal side effects.

Thank You.

Appointment Please

I came to your clinic in February and decided to give splinting a try and declined the injection.
Splinting helped initially but now im getting pain and pins and needles again, including during the day and this is impacting on my work as sometimes its to painful to type.
Please could I have an appointment to have the injection?

Thanks

Denise

Treatments

Hello I had a steroid injection 17/5/2017 in my right hand and as yet have not noticed any difference?.

Continued Symptoms/Acupuncture Treatment

I have had two injections in each wrist, The left wrist has remained almost symptom free whilst the right wrist is now suffering once again from severe pain and tingling at night. It is also stiff during the day. I have been trying acupuncture for 7 weeks now and it has really helped lessen the symptoms, However, I am paying for this privately. Interestingly, I had to miss my session last week and the symptoms are once again severe. I would say that the acupuncture lessened the pain level from 9 down to about a 5 with a return to the 9 having missed a session.

Returning problems

Good evening Dr Bland,

Unfortunately my right wrist has started causing me major problems again. You kindly arranged for an injection last year which lasted quite a long time, but now it has worn off, my left wrist is also showing signs which for the first time.

Please advise the possibility of having nerve test/injections in both wrists.

Kind regards

Louise Wynne

Next step

Hi I was seen April 6th and given splint for both hands, I've persevered with them every night but I find they make my wrists ache terribly and half way through the night I'm taking them off to then be woken by awful numb aching hands. Please can I try the injections. Thank you.

First injection to left wrist.

Hi. I had my injection on 2nd May and now I don't have to wear my wrist splint at night for the pain, but my thumb and index and middle fingers are still tingly and the tips feel a bit numb all the time.
Will this eventually go?

Thank you.

Hi Dr Bland
Thank you for resetting my password. I have updated my severity questionnaire.
I haven't used the splints you gave me in 2013 as i found them uncomfortable at the time and they exacerbated my symptoms rather than helping.
I am experiencing a lot of night time pain with tingling and it occurs by day when I am gripping something like a phone, a bag a pen etc and can affect me or at work in NICU. It tends to be worse in the morning.
I hope to see you in June.
Many thanks
Sue Sutherland

return if symptoms

Following successful surgery on right hand and steroid injection on left hand 2 years ago I am now experiencing a return of cats to left hand. Pain numbness and weaken in which has worsened over the last 3 weeks.
Do I need to go back to my go or come direct to the clinic? I am a violinist so getting quite desperate about sorting out my left hand
