I was given a splint on 30th June but the pain is just getting worse it has not helped me at all

Post surgery

Hello Dr Bland,

I had a carpal tunnel release surgery on the 7th of July and would like to share my experience and thoughts. I also have some doubts and would appreciate your opinion.

Surgery was performed on the right hand and by Dr Smith. From my point of view I would say, that it is too early to determine if surgery was successful or not. Therefore I am going to write further comments on this topic as time passes.

New Questionnaire Completed

Dear Dr Bland

I have completed the questionnaire as requested. As I suspect, it turns out the symptoms in my left hand have worsened. May I have an appointment to discuss possible surgery on that one as well? I had the right hand done in August last year.

Best regards

Treatment has solved my carpal tunnel

I attended hospital in Canterbury and had a steroid injection on 5 June. My symptoms vanished within 2 days and i have no problems at all now. Very pleased and hope it lasts for some time!

Pain has returned

I have had 2 steroid injections done in my right wrist which the last 1 I think was September last year but for the last couple of months the pain has returned I have left it a while hoping that i could live with it but I'm finding it very difficult I was wondering what we could do next look forward to hearing from you

Update followinng injections

Morning, I had my second round on injections six weeks ago and Emma asked me to drop you a line with some feedback. The injections have certainly had a positive effect again but I can feedback that the reduction in my symptoms is not as effective as with the first set of injections. The first time round my symptoms ceased completely whereas this time I am still having numbness and a mild tingling sensation in my fingers/hands from time to time. It is not often and I am happy wtih the results and do not want to pursue any further treatment at this time.

Advise

Hi Dr Bland,

I was diagnosed with Carpel on Monday 26th June and was given a steroid injection into both wrists, last night and today I have got really hot arms especially in the front of my arms by my elbows and just wanted to know if these are normal side effects.

Thank You.

Appointment Please

I came to your clinic in February and decided to give splinting a try and declined the injection.
Splinting helped initially but now im getting pain and pins and needles again, including during the day and this is impacting on my work as sometimes its to painful to type.
Please could I have an appointment to have the injection?

Thanks

Denise
