Injections in both wrists 10th October. few days after, easier at base of fingers. no change since. still numb on ends of fingers, to first joint and thumbs. Please confirm I have been referred for surgery.

Enter page title here update on symptons

I had steroid injection on right wrist which seemed to help, but after 24 hours my left hand seemed stronger than the right. The splints seemed to work. I am still using the splints at night. My hands are getting worse and I am finding simple tasks difficult. My nerves in my wrists were not in a good condition and I was told this could be due to diabetes. I have had the necessary tests carried out and I do not have diabetes. My feet have similar symptoms to my hands.

Appointment

Thank you Mr Bland for your quick response.

Appointment

Hi - I have attended the clinic in the past, I have had surgery on my right hand a few years ago. The symptoms in my left hand have accelerated, I wear my splint to bed at various times in the day. Do I need to go through my GP for an appointment?
Kind Regards
Lindi

Splints

Hello - I have been wearing splints at night since 26 September. This sounds very odd, but since wearing them my shoulders hurt a little and I wondered if due to the fact the lower part of the arm is being kept straight this is the cause? Thanks Beverley

Injection update

Hi Dr Bland

I had the injection to my left wrist on Wednesday 5th October and I have to say I am impressed with the results. Dr Warrilow at Charing Surgery, was very good and I felt little discomfort during the actual injection. He also explained exactly how it worked and said it should start to take effect within two weeks or so.

Progress report

Hi.
I received an email from Emma asking how things have been after having an injection in my right wrist.
I can confirm that I did not have any side effects from the injection.
I did see a real improvement after the injection for approximately 6 weeks.
Unfortunately I was still using vibrating hand tools at the time and the symptoms have since returned.
Also I'm having pain in my elbows aswel now.
I would like to request an appointment to discuss these issues if possible.
Many thanks
Chris Banham

CTS: Surgical operation - keyhole or open

I attended your clinic on Monday 26th September 2016; my thanks to all for a professional and effective service. You diagnosed CTS in both hands, the right with a score of 4 and suggested surgery. [You also gave me wrist splints for both hands which have already provided some relief at night and early morning.] I would like to ask about the surgical technique (you suggested that I could attend at the St Stephens Health Centre in Ashford); would the surgical procedure be keyhole or open? Many thanks.

With best regards,

Stuart

Returning pain

I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel to both hands last December. I had steroid injections in both wrists that were successful and my pain disappeared straight away. My pain has returned in both wrists and is now very painful. Please can i have an appointment to have the surgery as the pain is becoming unbearable. Thank you
