Trigger finger
Dear Dr Bland, I think I have developed trigger finger in the ring finger of my right hand. I have read the info on this website about it. I had CTS surgery 3 years ago in the same hand. Are you able to advise on this or do I need to see my GP?
Thanks
Carpal tunnel operation
I was given a splint to wear in March and for the first few weeks it was fine but after that the pain returned. I have decided to go ahead with the operation and I was wondering what the next step would be?
Love my splints
Dear Mr Bland,
Want to give you feedback after my first visit to your clinic.
I visited you first time 6 weeks ago, my severity score on both hands was 1.45
My symptoms had been tingling and numbness in various areas of both hands, to similar extent, and mostly appearing right after waking up, and getting better with movement, but always getting worse again when holding on tight to car steering wheel, bicycle handle bars, phone, hair drier etc.
Post Minor Op
Hello Dr Bland,
I had the minor op on 12th May at Faversham which I thought, and hoped, had gone well. However, for the last three days I have acute pain in my wrist, below my thumb pad, is pain usual at this stage of recovery? It does feel like the pain I experienced with the carpal tunnel. If the procedure has not been successful, is there any further treatment open to me after the scar has fully healed?
Many thanks,
Jo
Treatment Selected
After digesting most of the info on website I have elected to try the steroid injection as the first and hopefully the last treatment required, as I can't see any averse effect should I be unlucky and require surgery at a later date.
Carpol Trial
Good afternoon, I'm contacting you in regards of Mrs Hand Who attended your clinic on 3rd June.
After careful consideration she has decided to decline the offer of the trial offered due to the distance and cost involved.
Mrs Hand has decided to opt for the session of injections at the QEQM hospital Margate.
We look forward to receiving appointment details.
Kind regards.
Mrs Linda Summers

Splint
Hi,
I saw you yesterday and you gave me a splint for my Left hand to wear at night, This might sound a silly question but how tight should it be when i first put it on it was moving around a bit so i tightened it but not sure if it was to much i did get a small mark around the thumb area so i loosened that off a bit,
Any advice would be great,
Many Thanks

Hello Dr Bland, have used splint for several months fine at first but pain in r wrist is getting worse.I would like my name to be put forward for the operation.
first time reporting symtoms since appointment
I have been wearing the splints to sleep in for approx. 5 weeks, I have found that my hands are better first thing in the morning and not waking me up so much during the night. I still have pain when driving for more that 10-15 minutes. And my hands and wrists still hurt in the night if I have been extra busy on that day.

To Dr J D P Bland I saw you in clinic 6/5/16, you gave me a new larger wrist splint to try for a month. My hand is no better, in fact worse, the numbness and pain have increased, and, my fingers & wrist are swollen all the time now. As I am my Husbands carer, itt is making life very difficult.
