Steroid Injection Request

Dear Mr Bland,
My name is Alberto Gonzalez and I saw you at your clinic last Thursday - 28 May. We discussed the option of having an injection on my right hand as an alternative to surgery. I was wondering if I could come to have the injection some time Thursday or Friday this week?
Thanks.
Kind regards,
Alberto

Re inject

Dear Dr Bland,

Many thanks again

First night wearing splints

I had my first appointment yesterday, and last night wore the wrist splints for the first time. I was woken after two hours sleep by terrible pain in my thumbs and the back of my hands, worse on the left hand, by 2.30am I was in so much pain, I had to take painkillers and remove the splints. Please could you tell me if this is a normal reaction, I am a bit worried about wearing them again!
Would really appreciate some feedback.

Thank you

Hi Dr Bland

Recently having had the carpal tunnel op at the end of March was wondering if it is usual to have lumps either side of the scar and for the area to still be sore and at times very itchy on the wrist underneath the scar and also from time to time have pains shooting from the area up my arm, only lasting a couple of minutes at the most though. I put cream on it every day and massage the area. Where the scar ends at the wrist this is sometimes painful. There is still redness in this area. Just wondering whether this is normal recovery?

Thanks

Carpal tunnel and riding a motorbike

Hi, I'm finding it really hard to ride my motorbike. My right hand goes numb, I only have use of my thumb and first finger, the palm and other fingers are dead. I wear the splint on my right hand every night but I still get the tingling sensation. The left hand is becoming more painful too, especially in my third finger and I do loose sensation sometimes whilst riding the bike, though I can move this hand a lot easier whilst riding. The right controls the throttle so if I take it off, I loose power.

Huge improvement to symptons

Hello Dr Bland, I have recently returned from an extended holiday in the warm temperatures of Tenerife. I am delighted to report that I have had no pain or discomfort since the last time that I received treatment from your excellent staff on the 15th Jan.2015 .
I don't know whether being in a warm climate helped, but overall I feel much, much better.
Many thanks.
Anita

6 Weeks post surgery.

I had my right hand operated on 6 weeks ago now. I am experiencing severe pain, slight swelling and noticeable weakness in my wrist, palm and sometimes fingers. Is this normal at this stage? And when should I expect these symptoms to subside. I have a 6 month old baby and although the carpal tunnel symptoms have improved, I'm finding my hand is still a hindrance with the amount of pain I'm now having. I am also right handed.
I hope you can help.

Hands much weaker

Hi, I have had both wrists operated on 3 years ago. I have recieved a participation form to fill in, as the questions are short, it was hard to explain my problem for example - my hands are not a bad score for dressing etc, although after a short period of time my hands are very weak and painful . Also holding phone etc for a short time still sets of pins and needles.
Another problem I have now is trigger thumb on my right hand.
I cannot garden as my hands don't have the strength to weed etc and will not grip.

Numbness in Right Hand

Hi, have been religously wearing my my brace each night as directed and it has helped tremendously, I have had no more pain. However, in the last couple of weeks I have become increasingly aware of numbness in my hand, particularly in the tips of my fingers. It is there all the time. Do I need to progress my treatment?
