wrist is red and hurts 2 days after steroid injection
I had a steroid injection in my left wrist on Monday morning this week. My wrist is hurting and is very red still 2 days after the injection. I can't seem to do much with my hand as it aggravates it. I had a steroid injection in the same wrist about 3 years ago and didn't have any problems. Should I be concerned about this, or will it eventually calm down?
Injection update
Dear Dr Bland, it is now just over one month since I had an injection in my left hand. It hasn't worked as well as the injection I had in my right hand May 2014. Although the numbness and tingling in my fingers is no longer a problem my wrist constantly aches, as does my whole arm. With both hands now I find it hard to bend my fingers without pain and discomfort, especially first thing in the morning. When I press the inside of my palms on both hands where the knuckles are it is very tender. I feel everything has tightened up in both hands now.

Operation a success
A big thank you to you and your team. My op 3/01/2015 a huge success Dr Rhine did a marvellous job no more pain and sleepless nights. Hand is functioning as normal now just a slight numbness in the tips of my fingers occasionally but am told that will pass. Also my left hand and arm seems to have cured itself for the moment so I am very happy. Once again thank you so much.

Not sure whether to keep appointment....
Firstly, what a great idea to have a forum for patients to communicate with consultants.
8 months post surgery
I had surgery for carpal tunnel 8 months ago and everything has been fine until just recently. I"m experiencing pain in the area of the surgery, more so when my hand is in a hanging down position. The pain is relieved when I lift my hand and hold it up. Initially, it was in my upper arm and spreading down but now seems to be concentrated in the wrist/base of the hand. Also when it is painful, the veins are hugely protuberant. I'd like to know if this is a condition others have experienced and if so, what have they been able to do to relieve it.
ouch!
Hi Dr Bland, I fear my last steroid injection has worn off and mentioned to GP today as was seeing him anyway. Due to the nature of my job I am desperate to have another assessment or steroid injection. I believe my GP said they would write but not sure if it's easier this way as am struggling with it at the moment. Any advise would be much appreciated. Thanks Lyn
