Symptoms Returning - further injections

Hi Dr Bland,
On 1st May this year I had both wrists injected by Emma following which I suffered no pins & needles in either wrist until 3 weeks ago. Since then, the symptoms have been getting progressively worse until now when they wake me several times a night. I have not worn splints purposely as I'm due to see Kamal next Tuesday at 11am for re testing under the trial. When I come to see you as part of that appointment, would it be possible to have repeat injections please?
Many thanks, Caroline

thoracic outlet syndrome

Came back in for tests today as requested my dr nicolson as he thinks i may have thoracic outlet syndrome. Don't know if your know much about this condition but I don't either. The lady that carried out the tests said that you are going to refer me back to orthopaedics? Is this for the thoracic outlet syndrome.
Regards

Urgent- Bad Episode

Hi. Have had a bad couple of days with severe pain in left wrist, went to A&E today and Dr says I have nerve impingement due to my CT. I did email back in March after I last saw you to request a referral to Mr Wetherall for surgery but have not heard back and did not chase up. I now need an urgent referral so can you do that or do I need to see GP. To make matter worse, I am moving out of the area in 4-6 weeks and would like to see if i can get anything done before then. Please let me know asap...thanks Angela.

My CTS journey

I had CTS during pregnancy 20 years ago, probably due to weight gain and hormone changes. After the birth this soon went away and I thought no more of it. Recently (with last 2 years) the tingling started in my hand and increased and spread until in March this year after a very stressful house move, it became a throbbing pain that went from my entire hand through my forearm to my elbow. I tried a splint for 2 weeks but it did not help at all.

CTS returns again, this time 13 months

Hello Dr Bland,
After the 3rd injection, July 2013, the CTS problem has returned in my right hand.
Born 1948, now 66, and 2 months ago was put on some blood pressure lowering tablets named INDAPAMIDE 2.5mg, a diuretic. It may be just coincidence, but after taking these tablets for about 3 weeks the CTS problem seemed to accelerate? Has anyone else reported a problem while taking diuretics?

Anyway I now require additional treatment for my right hand, possibly a 4th injection?

CTS RETURNS

Hi Dr Bland. Hope you're well? The CTS is back in my right hand .... and we've only done 1/2 the harvest :( Never mind any pruning! I think it's time to 'man' up and have the surgery. Is this at all possible for November 2014? Best wishes, Lorna

Contined pain.

Hello,

I haven't had any treatment/contact since February - I have read the information Jeremy posted but I'm not sure whether I need to go back to my doctor for another referral. I thought I would post an update to keep me in the loop.

Surgery.

Hi Dr Bland

Just an update for you. Following an MRI scan showing early stages of Arthritis in both wrists and a long conversation with Mr Smith, a trial release was done this morning on my left hand. I will let you know how I get on.

Progress Report

Firstly thank you so much for the injections I received in mid-July. After a month the numbness in my left hand was very much improved but not so much in my right, although better. I was sleeping very badly and my doctor signed me off work for two weeks to completely rest my hands, +10 days annual leave which helped too. The 3 wk rest really helped, I stopped taking painkillers for a few days and I even had some mornings when I woke up when my hands were not the first thing I thought of!

Numbness and assorted pains returning after injections

I have been getting lots of assorted types of pain in my hands and fingers/thumbs accompanied by numbness. I am wondering whether or not I can keep getting injections, (I think this will be the 4th pair) or is it time for surgery? My neighbor recommended Rory Weatherell as a surgeon, what is your opinion? Many Thanks, Pete
