Carpal tunnel treatments
I first had CTS at 27 when pregnant with my son. Strangely, not with my daughter 20 months later. I admit to putting on more weight the first time, but the night time hand numbness has been intermittent these past 26 years even after losing weight.
Advice re surgery
I have had CTS diagnosed by NCT and given levels of 4 on left and 5 on right. Symptoms have been severe for last two months. I started wearing night splints two months ago. In spite of these splints symptoms progressed from numbness at night and pain in wrists and hands to constant tingling/ numbness all day and night which never recovers. The pain caused weakness in that it was so painful to grip my grip had no strength. When I saw the surgeon last week he booked me for surgery on the right and gave an injection in the left.
Up date as requested
As requested Dr Bland, Report 5 weeks post appointment, my right hand continues to experience tingling/zizzing with certain activities, using implements in the kitchen, drying my hair, holding a sewing needle and the feeling is very intense when driving. There is still no pain of any significance, though my fingers are very cold. I wear the support on the right hand every night as directed, but at this point there is minimal discomfort in the left hand so I have not used the support as I did find that my sleep was very disturbed with both hands restricted.
Kind Regards.

Carpal tunnel injection problem
I have been diagnosed with CT in my left hand after having had mild to severe symptoms for a few years which have got worse in the last six months. I had two lots of CT steroid injections, over two years, which were an instant success and relieved the pain/numbness for well over six months. Three days ago, I was given an injection by my GP (moved to different area last year). The injection was excruciating, causing electric shocks in thumb, first and middle fingers followed by severe pain, numbness and swelling of my whole hand.
Amyloid?
Hello everyone,
I'm new to the forum and apologize in advance for the complexity of my background and questions. I realize it's unlikely that most of you will have such a complicated history, but I'm hoping that perhaps someone with knowledge or experience with CTS secondary to amyloidosis may be able to comment on whether my situation sounds characteristic of amyloid CTS.
Do I have CTS? Please give me some advice
Hello, Ive been dealing with wrist problems for over 2 years now. 7 years ago I fractured both my wrists and they've never felt the same since. After they healed it took me a while to get my strength back, but for the past 2 years Ive noticed really bad pain when Im drawing. This is a big problem for me as Ive just been accepted into the best Animation University in the country and I will be drawing 100% of the time there.
Carpel Tunnel and wierd tendon problem or maybe no problem
I had mini carpal tunnel relase surgery perform on both of my hands about 8 weeks ago. I have two issues on my doctor explain one (pillar pain) and the second one I can't get straight answer. 1st issue. Pillar pain. According to my doctor this may be lasting from few weeks to up to a year at times and it always goes away with time. I guess my will last little longer then few weeks since I'm 8 weeks post surgery. 2nd issue. This is the one that I'm worry and not getting straight answer. All my fingers bend and functions fine, all have good sensation in them.
numbness three weeks PO endoscopic carpal tunnel release
Hello, Had single incision endoscopic carpal tunnel release three weeks ago. When my CT was diagnosed previously, my symptoms were numbness at night and periodically when working. After surgery my doctor told me he had to make several passes during the surgery to remove "significant adhesions and scar tissue". Now three weeks post op my middle finger and 1/2 of my ring finger are numb especially in the area between them and I have a burning sensation on the palm side of my fingers.
Numbness post surgery
Hi, I know there have been a few posts about numbness after surgery, but just wanted to clarify is it normal? Had open release yesterday on my left hand after an 8 month history of night time parasthesia and numbness. No day times symptoms.
NCS confirmed mild bilateral carpal tunnel in both hands but also transient ischaemia in my ulnar nerve.
All of my fingertips today have some element of numbness, the worst being my index and ring finger and my palm is numb above the incision area. Is this normal?
Thank you
Vicki
