Revision for scar tissue causing symptoms post CTS surgery?
I am 64 years old and was diagnosed with CTS in January 2016 after nerve conduction studies demonstrating motor latency across the wrist at 6.1 milliseconds (ms) on the right and 4.6 ms on the left. Sensory latencies measured 3.8 ms on the right and 3.9 ms on the left. The opinion of the neurologist was mild to moderate CTS on th right and mild on the left. My hand surgeon recommended surgery on the right hand because my symptoms had been occurring for some time and he noted some atrophy in the the area muscle on the right.

Having had carpal tunnel for some years and have seen Dr Bland on a few occasions, and have had a few steroid injections in the past,I now find my self in pain in the left shoulder and neck and my left index finger feeling rather different on one side numbness most of the time.
I went to the GP and I now have a appointment to you 21st of November as she thought it was the carpal tunnel.
I know we had spoken in the past about surgery and I opted out as I was caring for a elderly mother and still working but I now find myself not in that position.
Can Carpel Tunnel Cause Hand Redness?
I started experiencing mild Carpel Tunnel symptoms about a year ago, and after several months my symptoms became less tolerable. Over the last 3-4 months I have stretched daily and did the whole cold/hot thing. Now I have minimal symptoms once again, but there is something that concerns me. At times and with no apparent schedule my left hand and wrist turns red and feels warm. I've been aware of Rheumatoid Arthritis for some time but doubted I had it because I have read that pain in the forearm is exclusively a carpel tunnel thing.

Hello-
Thank you for all this great content. This is truly a blessing of a site.
I had a couple quick questions I was hoping that somebody could assist on. I have been diagnosed with bilateral carpal tunnel based off clinical findings while at a visit with the neurosurgeon. My EMG/NCV came up negative on 2 separate occasions (both performed by neurologists), however, when I wear night wrist splints I can sleep through the night and my hands are not painful in the morning. When I don't wear the splints, I wake up continuously throughout the night with painful hands.
climbing
I have mild Carpal Tunnel, in my right hand (my most used hand).
As a baker, my job is very "hands on". When I have been working a long hours, my hand gets worse at night and having to sleep with the brace, but other days Im fine.
My question is, I really fancy doing Rock climbing again, but will this make my symptoms worse or could it improve my hand?
Have anyone got any experience, they would help share?
Thank you for taking time reading.

8 months after surgery and in pain
Greeting,
I had been diagnosed with sever carpal tunnel and in need of surgery on my right wrist.. I had surgery over 8 months ago. Great surgery; no problems. Saturday I woke up with a dull pain that ran from my shoulder to my wrist. It was such a dull pain I could not get comfortable no matter what I did. I did not do much because the dull ache was too much. I am still have this dull ache down my arm. My arm is swollen just as it was prior to surgery. I have taken Alieve daily as much as I can.

CPT Advice & Cortisone Shots
Hi. Firstly I wanted to say what a great resource this site is! And the forum is really useful too!
I am after a bit of advice. My doctor has given me a diagnosis or suspected CPT (& I am pretty sure it is after reading up on it).
2 operations and still not right
Just found this forum and am hoping I can get some impartial advice here. I had an initial carpal tunnel release operation done on my right wrist in July 2015. After 2 weeks I returned to work and although it was better than before the operation, it slowly started going back to how it was before (tingling fingers, aching hand). I had a 2nd operation on the same wrist in July this year (5 weeks ago) which found some scarring and this was tended too. This time I have had 4 weeks off work and returned on the Monday just gone.
