Carpal tunnel topics
A curious case
Hello, I have been having hand and wrist symptoms for a long time now. I would very much appreciate if you can provide any help.
*** History
- For the last three years I have been having worsening numbness at my index and thumb and pain at my wrist. These symptoms are worse on the right side.
Numb 9 Days Post-Op
Had endoscopic CT release 9 days ago & my thumb, index, middle &, to a lesser extent, my ring fingers are numb with the tips being the numbest. The post-op swelling has greatly subsided. I am not experiencing any pain & no longer experience the pre-op intermittent pins & needles sensation that would generally go away if I shook my hand. But, unfortunately, the numbness in the affected areas is now constant & clearly worse than pre-op.
Update
I'm seeing a hand surgeon on the 21St April about my constant pain in both hands and numbness. Work have told me to cut bread in the machine but I've told my line leader that I don't want to take the chance in doing so incase my grip goes. Even though I have had the carpal tunnel release some time back just would like to get this inconvenience sorted. Also had to stop self cathetizing due to my grip playing up, in a recent cystoscopy they have seen two lesions in the urethra, the urologist has put me on tamsolosin. Will let you know how next week goes. Mark
Carpal Tunnel is affecting my career/job choice and I am despairing at what I can do for a job
Hi, I am copying over 2 posts from another forum, so please forgive the repetition from the two posts below:
Post 1 - I developed Carpal Tunnel syndrome 3 and a half years ago. I had my first operation 2 and a half years ago, and continued with my office based role with no problems for 18 months. However it came back with a vengeance. I had a second operation 4 months ago and I knew straight away it hadnt worked. The surgeon said that the scar tissue from the first operation was like someone had poured concrete in my hand.
Are my symptoms CTS linked?
Presently I'm encountering deadness and shivering in the same hand, a shortcoming in the hands bringing about the successive dropping of things or perceived swelling while moving the arm. The symptoms are usually worse at night. I first thought I'd broken a hand bone when it began. I'm not having that now. The shivering is consistent yet the vibe of deadness isn't. Are my indications CTS connected? Will physiotherapy treatment help for this? It would be ideal if you share your recommendation or advice.

I had CTS surgery 18 years ago in my left hand. Now I'm experiencing numbness and tingling in the same hand, a weakness in the hands resulting in the frequent dropping of things or a pain or burning sensations when moving up your arm. In fact, I first thought I'd broken a hand bone when it started. I'm not having that now. The tingling is constant but the sensation of numbness isn't. Are my symptoms CTS linked? Will physiotherapy treatment help for this? Please share your advice/suggestions.
Post-surgical problem
My mother had surgery on her R wrist about 9 weeks ago (in January). She has two problems post-surgery.
First. Shortly after, she developed hard little white lumps all over her palm (in the area of the surgery). They are painful. She feels they may consist of broken up but undissolved stitches. A GP office nurse agreed and sent her to Minor Injuries. The MI doc had no idea and referred her on to a Trauma clinic doc who told her to rub Nivea in for 10 min. x6 times per day as she thought it was nerve-related pain due to the nerves re-attaching themselves.
CT Surgery in 10 days.. questions
Hello,
My doctor says my symptoms do not make sense, help!
I had endoscopic cts surgery. Right hand was done 4 and a half months ago, left was done 3 weeks after. I work in a environment that is very physical and use my hand consistently. Since my operation I feel as if my symptons have worsened. I no longer wake up with the same 'pins and needle' tingling but I constantly wake up from my hands 'falling asleep.' It's a different type on tingle and I often feel it throughout the day. I have trouble holding my cell phone, or even blow drying my hair because my thumb and first finger will get a burning sensation.
Recently Diagnosed CTS
Yesterday 3/3/16 I was diagnosed with CTS grade 4 right hand grade 1 left. I was given splints to wear at night, but found the pain was worse when I am unable to move my hands, is this normal?
