Just beginning diagnosis process
Hello from the US, and thank you truly for this website's wealth of information.
I am in the early stages of diagnosis. Unsure yet whether CTS. Healthy, 35 years of age. This is the long/short of the symptoms:
* Long-term (2+ years) hand/forearm discomfort historically presenting as aches/fatigue, massaging palm muscles etc., after computer use.
* Nearer-term symptoms aching/fatigue outside of computer use during daily activities
2 hands post-op advice, am 7 months pregnant
Hi all,
Hoping someone can help me.
I had surgery on both hands 4 days ago and I am 7 months pregnant with my first child. I know I am probably being impatient as it is only 4 days post-op but want to check that my symptoms post-op are normal and confirm what to expect. No one has spoken to me about this and I am a bit worried about my ability to hold and look after my baby. I am 39 years old and have been trying for some time so am admittedly anxious.
Questions about Balloon carpal tunnel plasty
Hi, while I was looking for info about cts surgery I came across balloon carpal tunnel plasty which seems to be by far the best surgical option BUT there is little to no other information about it. For something patented in 1993 it is still being called "experimental" and it seams only a handful of surgeons even do it. It's not even talked about as an option by the Dr.s I've spoken to or the sites I have visited. My question is why? Does anyone have info on the reasons? Has anyone had it done? Why is something that looks to be so much better not being talked about more?
CTS surgery 8 weeks ago and I wasn't informed until 7 weeks post-op. Looking for some information regarding healing of the TCL.
Please forgive me if this information is easily found elsewhere on the site or seems like common sense. The TCL was released in one of my hands approximately 8 weeks ago, and the only mention of it to me so far has been at 7 weeks post-op when I presented with massive pain. I think I've read through everything there is to read but am still confused about the healing process of the TCL following release. If anyone is interested in how I ended up in this position I will be happy to be reply later, but for now typing is difficult so I will start with my questions.
CTS after wrist fracture
I had a fall and fractured my distal radius nine weeks ago. Non-displaced fracture - plaster cast four weeks then as advised I wore a splint at night for the first week. The following week I woke with numbness in middle two fingers and since then the CTS symptoms have steadily worsened with pain and more widespread nighttime numbness despite wearing a splint. (I'm 62 and had some osteoarthritis in hands and wrists before the injury but that is apparently not very serious. I do have noticeable atrophy of my thumb muscle and lots of tenderness in the base of thumb joint since the injury).
advice for cts please read my long painful story
Hello everyone-- I am experiencing some pretty annoying CTS symptoms- especially in my left hand. To give you guys a little background- I had major surgery in February 2015 in my abdominal cavity-- I had sepsis and abdominal compartment syndrome-( you can google it on the web)- I was the strongest and healthiest guy right before that occurred but following a cortisone shot I acquired sepsis and that was all she wrote. I almost expired- but due to my extremely healthy condition as per the doctor - I survived that massive operation.
Post surgery numbness
I am new to this forum and discovered it by googling "permanent numbness after carpal tunnel surgery". An old post from a user named kittybeth popped up and her symptoms are exactly what I am experiencing. Since surgery my left thumb, index, and middle finger are constantly numb and stiff. These symptoms and different and much worse than my symptoms before surgery. My surgeon is saying this will ease with time, but I haven't felt any return of sensation since the surgery. Any insight you can provide as to what's going on would be most appreciated.
Post Surgery Healing
I had surgery a little over a month ago. I am having tingling and numbness in my fingers quite often. My incision area is also still swollen and red with a hard oblong knot in it. Should I be concerned or see my surgeon again?
