re splints
message for Dr bland, after appointment on 12/12/13 you gave me splints for both hands which im pleased to say have worked at night, i sleep much better so im really pleased with that result, however, had injections in both wrist's two weeks ago, left feels a bit better but right is still hurting i get shooting pains through my right wrist, Dr i saw did say it might take up to four weeks to feel any change if any, he also said he will ring when four weeks is up..G Hovvels.
Considering RH surgery
I am now considering having surgery, initially on my right hand, as the symptoms seem to be getting worse. My thumb is "clicking" at the knuckle and feels sore and swollen at the base - is this part of the same problem?
Updated symptom questionnaire
I have just updated my symptom questionnaire. Results show worsening of CT symptoms in affected hand. Following steroid injection in May 2013 I was symptom free for next few months. For last few weeks symptoms (night time in particular) have returned with a vengence. Am pretty exhausted with night symptoms keeping my awake for aprox 2 hrs - often leaving me having only had 3-4 hrs sleep. Would I now be a candidate for surgery or not?
Hand surgery
Had my left hand operated on 20th December but I'm still getting numbness in it, had right hand operated on in October and that one is no longer numb, just panicking the left hand hasn't worked

Vicky
Splints CTS
Following my appointment @17.00 on 30.12.13 @ K&C with Dr Bland. I was given splints for both hands. Wearing them that night as advised, after 2 hrs I had to remove them due to extreme levels of pins and needles, heat and pain. Is this normal? I hope feedback is helpful.
Symptoms have returned
Hi Dr Bland, It's Sunday 29/12/13 and I was woken up last night for the first time since having the injections. The numbness has returned in my left hand and my right hand has started to ache.
Numbness and tingling returning in left hand
I last saw you on the 16th Dec I think, where I was tested again for CTS.
Since then, the symptoms in my left hand have worsened. I've been wearing wrist splints on both hands for ages now, but the past few nights have woken with pain, stiffness, tingling in the left hand. The right hand is very stiff in the morning as well. As I'm typing, the left hand begins going numb/tingling as well. I need to type for work so might try wearing the splint when typing if that could help?
Just wondered if in all your research, you've ever found a dietary link with CTS?
Many thanks,
Mary
Symptoms have worsened
I had my first appointment with you on 11th November and my symptoms were better at that time, however within a couple of weeks my symptoms became worse and it is now extremely painful. The pain wakes me up a few times a night and is also quite painful during the day, frequently my thumb seems to 'ping' which is followed by extreme pain, my thumb and first three fingers are numb most of the time and the base of the thumb also sore.
Third injection has worn off.
Hi,
I had my third injection in the right hand I think 30/8/13 or at least very close to then. The symptoms have been creeping back for a couple if weeks and are now waking me through the night and there when I'm holding things like phone etc and I'm dropping everything which drives me nuts.
This time it lasted three months, the one before that was six months of there a abouts and the one before that until I got pregnant.
My wrist support seems to have disappeared, would that help? If so could I have a new one please?
Thanks!
Charlotte
