My symptons update

Have been using the splints i still have minor symptoms

SurgeryEnter page title here

Following my appointment on Saturday with Dr Rine, I have decided after much thought that I will not go ahead with the surgery planned for 5th April. Do I need to phone in as well, to release the appointment?

The reason for cancelling is that the possible benefits seem to me to be outweighed by the risks (although these are admittedly minimal). I am lucky enough not to be in pain, and just experience some numbness on the tips of two fingers and one thumb, none of which affect me significantly in daily life.

I will keep in touch, in case the symptoms change or worsen.

Many thanks.

Need to discuss possible surgery.

Sorry for not contacting you sooner, after our discussion the other week and as things have not improved I was wondering if I could come in for a chat soon to sort out my next move.

I have a few questions to ask prior to this, Will I need to have another test done before I see you? Will I be able to talk with your before making my final decision and if another steroid injection is needed will I be able to have one whilst I am there?

I will be available from Wednesday morning, all day Thursday and Friday of this week. I have nothing at the moment booked in for the week after.

Pain

Dear dr bland

Sorry to be a pain but I don't know what to do with myself, the pain is getting so severe up both my arms that I don't know what to do. I was awake all night last night with it, feels like cramp and Aching constantly and I'm so tired.

Have tried avoiding using my crutches but nothing is helping. Would appreciate your advice

Hi dr bland

Do I ring me smith waiting list coordinator regarding surgery or do I just wait for a letter to come through?

Surgery follow-up

I had surgery at the Broomfield/Reculver practice before Christmas which has wholly relieved my symptoms. There was mention in the process of a follow-up questionnaire but this does not appear to have happened. Do I need to do anything for this to happen?

Please arrange surgery

Dear Doctor Bland I contacted you in June last year to tell you that my father, Ronald Murray, could not complete your follow-up questionnaire as he suffered a stroke in April and has been left with severe speech and memory problems. He is suffering terribly with his left hand and he would like to have the same surgery as he had on his right hand as that has given him great relief. Could you possibly arrange for this to be done for him as soon as possible? I hold the Lasting Power of Attorney for my father . I thank you in anticipation of your help,

Symptoms returned ... but different

I was treated for carpal tunnel at Canterbury last summer, by injection in each wrist. The improvement was rapid - the symptoms disappeared completely - and lasted until a month ago. I helped a friend with a day's gardening which included a stint of moving grow bags full of damp compost. I lifted them by gripping the edges, which had begun to cause me discomfort in my left hand before I stopped. Since then, pain in my left hand has woken me most mornings at between 4.00 and 4.30 am. A single ibuprofen seems to give some relief.

Ulnar nerve

Hi dr bland

Thank you for seeing me this morning even if it wasn't good news!!! But I just wanted to ask what the waiting time is likely to be?
