Post summer update

was suggested,as wrist pain appears to have returned to prior injection level, what
action do you now advise?

Newly diagnosed - 1 week of wearing splint to right hand at night.

Hi, I was diagnosed with CTS on 27th September with level 3/6 severity. I was experiencing waking up two or three times each night with pins and needles and a degree of knumbness to fingers right hand and some pain near elbow. After one week of wearing splint to bed have not awoken at all, just experienced mild knumbness in middle two fingers on some mornings. So, quite positive report at the moment. I will go ahead and book local steroid injection today and see what transpires. I wish to be treated as I do not want my condition to deteriorate.

Trouble searching website

Dear Dr Bland, since your last response to me on 6/08/12 http://www.carpal-tunnel.net/node/331. I've repeatedly tried to search the forum to no avail.
Every search word, even searching for Dr Bland or Carpal Tunnel, returns with;
•Check if your spelling is correct.
•Remove quotes around phrases to match each word individually: "blue smurf" will match less than blue smurf.
•Consider loosening your query with OR: blue smurf will match less than blue OR smurf.

My CTS

Dear Dr Bland

I had my appointment with you on 1st March 2012 for a suspected carpal tunnel syndrome.

At the time of my visit I had the numbness and tingling in my left hand and just slightly in the thumb and forefinger of my right hand.

I was fitted with a splint for both hands and since that time have been wearing them continuously every night (and for a while in the morning at the beginning). it has made a lot of difference and I am pleased to say that only occasionally do I ever experience any symptoms in either hand during the day or night.

Operation date

I have been given an appointment to have surgery on Oct 6th at Herne bay. I am wondering if it is possible to change this to the weekend of 27/28th of Oct.This is because i will be on half term holiday(i work in school) so will not need to take so much time off work. Also i live on my own at the moment but my son will be home then so be able to help me if needed. It will be easier for me to arrange transport for then too (giving my friend time to get the day off work) Thank you.

Surgery on Saturday 29th Sept

If possible I would wish to apply for the pre-operative assessment and surgery on 29th September with Dr Rine.
I currently have a date for surgery on 15th December 2012, you advised me to check the available appointments via this website for earlier dates.

Kindest regards,
Anne

4 week update

Hi Dr Bland

I've been sleeping with the splints on for just over 4 weeks now as you instructed. Some days are better than others and I'm not really sure if there is any improvement or not. I haven't been using as much vibrating machinery for just over 2 weeks and it seems to be slightly better, so I'm not sure if it's the splints that are helping or the change in my working pattern. I see no improvement when playing guitar.
