complication after carpel tunnel steriod injection

Hello i need some advice on what i should do. i had the injections in both wrist on the 30th july 2012, i hardly had any problems in the right hand before the injection it was mainly the left. since having the injections though my left hand is feeling lots better within 24 hours i started to notice the difference. but with the right hand instantly it didnt feel right, i told the doctor that did them that my hand felt very heavy straight after and it hurt when he injected it.

Hand Splints

I have been wearing the hand splints at night (most nights) for the last 6 weeks. They have definitely helped, I don't wake up with pain or numbness when I wear them. Occasionally I forget to put them on before I go to bed and I am then woken up in the night with the symptoms. I also still experience some discomfort during the day when I am not wearing the splints, so they haven't exactly cured the problem but they definitely do help to ease the symptoms at night.
My splints are already showing signs of wear and tear, will I be able to get a new set when these wear out?

RE: Appointment

Dear Dr Bland, firstly, congratulations on creating this website for patient interaction.
Secondly, you responded to a referral from Dr S-R of the WHH, with an appointment for 3rd September '12, on the possibilty of CTS but a welcomed phone call from Charlotte last Thursday 26th July offered an oppointment last Saturday.

request for repeat carpal tunnel injection

NHS No 4460672340 I was wondering if I can have a repeat injection as my left hand is now giving me a lot of discomfort and waking me up at night time, I have done the self assessment test result and the results 81% and severity score is 3.1. I last had an injection on 13/5/2011 at Charing surgery,

can barely use my hands but the electrical tests gave normal reading

Hi, I've been suffering since Feb 2011 and had the tests in July 2011 - gave readings of level 2 CTS, even though I was constantly numb and in pain. I had steroid injections in both hands which relieved it for a short while, I would say about a month. I hadn't gone the normal CTS route, as the GP had thought it was arthritis. After having the injections the consultant simply said that if the pain came back (I had told him it never really went away) go back to my GP and start again.

feedback after 6 months

Goodevening Dott. Bland,

I am Valentina Viscardi and 6 months ago I had the injection done. After 1 month I was not completely through the problem but at the time I had not the initial sintoms.

Currently I am still having some difficulties: my wrists are not flexible (sometimes are like made of wood), after some efforts they are tight and doing some moviment a slightely painfull, many times in the morning I had numbness doing some actions.

Waiting for your feed back

thanks and regards

Hand brace

Been wearing hand brace for last few weeks have had no pain or tingling so would it be best if I keep wearing it

Arm pain

HI there
I have had surgery recently for CTS on my right hand and I am on the waiting list for the left hand. It was complete success considering I have a prolapsed disc in my neck (C6-C7) we were unsure how surgery would go but it was fantastic.

Forgot to add

Tingly feeling confined to bottom half of hand, not fingers.

Results from last Wednesdays injections
