Confused

Hi Dr Bland

Update

After my consultation with you yesterday, i contacted the number you gave me and i am going to have my Steroid Injections on the 5th September, so i will let you konow how i find this before i go away.

Recurrence of symptoms after injection

Mr Bland, sorry I may have posted this in the wrong place last time (see carpal tunnel topics) basicly, I have previously been diagnosed as having carpal tunnel and have had the injection treatment, the symptoms have returned and i have been refered back to Canterbury to begin the whole process again. is this necessary or can I just arrange further treatment with you via this website?

Injection ?

Hi Dr Bland

You called me back after my visit when you were on holiday and gave me the ultra sound scan. It appears I do ave cts after all and you suggested the injection in my right hand.

I have thought about it and as the symptoms are not too bad I am not sure about the injection. Should I have the injection now or wait to see if the symptoms get worse.

I would appreciate your advice .

Injection or not

Dear Dr Bland You called me back for an ultra sound scan last Sat - 11 Aug and informed me that I did have cts afterall. You suggested I hadd the steroid injection and agave me details to arrange appointment. My query is that as the symptons seem to have settled a little and are not too bad at the moment, should I go ahead with the injection now or wait unitl it returns. I am nervous of having treatment too soon and not sure what to do. Please can you advise me

Post Operation Symptoms

Dear Dr Bland

Surgery carried out at QEQM last Thursday (16/08/12).

Three days after surgery and index finger is completely numb and stiff, but am able to move it. Thumb, middle and ring finger slight numbness in the tips but again am able to move them.

Felt shooting pain in the fingers twice during surgery and surgeon said this was where he I had touched the nerve.

I am carrying out finger exercises as advised, and there is some pain in the palm of the hand during the first session of the day, and after that OK except for occasional sharp shooting pain in the fingers.

3rd CTS Injection

Hello Dr Bland,

I had a third CTS Injection administered by Dr Biggs three days ago, on the 14th August. For the first couple of days, I was aware of very slight tingling/pricking sensations in the wrist and arm area but those have now disappeared. However, as after previous injections, a small painless lump has appeared on my wrist. As this occurance is nothing new, I'm not concerned and am confident that it will go as before.

update

Since seeing you on 25th June have had injections at Charing 6th July. Left hand has improved a bit but fingers still numb all the time and worse some nights. Right hand, which had felt pretty good, is normal most of the time although it now has intermittent numbness and is quite uncomfortable on occasions at night. Both go really numb/tingly driving, phoning or just doing repetitive things.
Back to Charing on Friday for a review and off to Herne Bay on Saturday for the operation on my left hand. Keeping my fingers crossed

Best regards
Andrew

Return of CTS symptons

Good morning Dr Bland:
Afraid my CTS symptons have made a comeback (without any decorating to blame!).
Usual severe pins and needles in my right hand, plus aching in right arm and shoulder, plus early waking/loss of sleep again.
Can't remember when I received my last steroid injection, but it wasn't that long ago.
Would very much appreciate an appointment at your clinic.
regards, MalD

Injection?

Hi, I have been wearing my splint/s at night now for a few months, there has been a definate improvement( also probably helped as I have finished sewing a patchwork quilt that I have been doding for years!) I had hoped by now that my hands would be back to normal, but if I leave the splints off I am disturbed at night by numbness or mild pain that wakes me up. The right hand also goes numb sometimes at night even when wearing the splint.
I had hoped to avoid treatment altogether, but wonder if I should consider an injection now? Would be grateful for some advice. Thanks ceri
