Splints

I attended your clinic at the end of february and was given some splints to try and help with my carpal tunnel symptoms. This initially improved things. However, now my symptoms are now returning, including during the night despite my wearing the splints. Is this something that normally happens? Any suggestions for improvement of my symptoms? Thanks

Injection for Carpal Tunnel

I had the injection on Saturday for Carpal tunnel in my left wrist. My fingers swelled up and I noticed that my hand changed colour slightly. It is now Wednesday and I still have pain in my wrist, hand and running up my arm to my shoulder. Is this normal? The swelling has now gone.

Appologies for contacting sooner

Hi
This is just a quick update on the steroid injection I had in my left wrist, since having it done the symptoms have eased slightly and have stayed that way up until now when they are reoccurring!
However please may I have the right wrist steroid injected, to see if it also eases the pain etc, and to discuss the options again
many thanks

Injection

Hello Dr Bland
I came in to Canterbury last Thursday for the injection in my right hand. I'm pleased to report that I've not had any symptoms in that hand since a couple of nights after the injections. Fingers-crossed that it'll be a while before it relapses.

return of CTS

Hi Dr Bland

I had the injections on the 16th of February 2012 and have not had any numbness or pain in either hand. Two weeks ago my right hand started getting numb again and the pains have returned. It is possible to have a second injection? Please. Kind regards, Lorna

Re-Surgery

Hello Dr Bland,

I have decided that I would like to go a head with the surgery, as we discussed when I saw you on Thursday 3rd May.

Please let me know when.

Thank you Pauline Chapman

Three months since the second injection:

Hello Dr Bland,

It's quite some time since I've updated you on my progress, so I thought that this three months' period would be appropriate. My reaction to the second injection has been, on the whole, much better than that of the first injection. However, at this three months' period, I am starting to experience some mild symptoms returning: occasional numbness (mainly in the thumb) whilst sleeping or especially, when cycling. Nevertheless, the symptoms are tolerable and that is why I haven't contacted you for a while.
