GANGLIONS
Out of interest, does anyone know if there is a relationship between ganglions on the back of the hand (not wrist) and CTS? I've recently noticed what I guess are large ganglions and wonder if this causes the CTS.
does anyone get pain in the elbow?
I've had carpal tunnel on three separate occasions over the past few years. I think the first time I had a borderline under active thyroid, the second time the GP just blamed the hot weather and on this occasion, the GP just provided me with pain killers and would not test my thyroid level (this was two weeks ago). I started this episode around December 2012.
CTS and anastrazole
I am on adjuvant hormone treatment for Ca Breast and changed to anastrazole last July after 2 awful years on Tamoxifen. Ceveloped CTS symptons about a month ago in L hand which is side where I had lymph node dissection. No evidence of lymphodema . Read the info on the website (which as a GP as well as patient I found extremely helpful ) of the link with anastrazole (and it is mentioned in the side effects on the patient leaflet in some brands of the drug but not others) and wondered whether CTS is more likely to develop on the affected side or is it just coincidence.
Questionnaire
I,ve just filled in the questionnaire for carpel tunnel and feel that the question of whether or not you have just recently had a cortisone injection has been performed should be there, as I have. Therefore when you're asked wether or not you've have symptoms in the last 2 weeks I cannot answer properly as I had an injection a week before Christmas so at the moment my symptoms are not there. But in a month or two my symptons will be far more severe. Also it does not ask how many injections you have had in the past. I have had approx 4
Wide awake

Steroid injection problems help
Four years ago I had surgery for CTS on my right wrist. This worked brilliantly, symptoms relieved immediately, recovery was quick and scarring minimal. The symptoms on my left hand were not severe and I was advised to see how things went and if they got worse to go back to the Dr. About 2/3 months ago the symptoms in my left hand have been getting progressively worse, tingling, pain at night and numbness in middle and ring finger.
Things seem to be getting worse, but no definitive answer from the doc.
Firstly, I'd like to express my gratitude to Dr. Bland for his commitment, I am pleased and amazed at his responses to people who are suffering from hand and wrist problems. Of course, I am currently one of them.
Advice
Hi, my GP has had a nerve conduction test done and that was ok, I have pain in both wrists and have drop things at work for the past 6 months. I can not open tops like jam jars etc. My grip feels week and I don't get much sleep due to the pain.
Can anyone give me some advice.
My Gp says I might have Carpal Tunnel due to the pain and loss off grip, have got physio this week, and I might be sent for injections
problem with thumbs after CT op
Hi I'm new to the site, came across it while trying to get info in my problem, would be interesting to know if anyone has had this problem before.....sorry if it’s a long winded article I'm not too good at explaining things in a few sentences..
What else can it be?
I am currently suffering from a bout of weird sensations in both my hands and forearms. I get tingling in my fingers (not much on the thumbs though) and a sensation of "shooting" pain towards the tips of my fingers on both hands; in particular the index, middle and ring fingers. Not much on thumb and little finger.
