Reoccurrence of CTS

Female, 23 years old, non-smoker, 8 stone and never been pregnant.

operation

In January of this year I had my left hand operated on in Canterbury, average time 2.5Hr no problem at all great service the op went well back to work in two week. I struggled for the first week or two as I am engineer on heavy plant. In November I had my right hand done in a surgery in Herne Bay. in and out in under 1Hr brilliant, the op went well. Just had the stitches out 12/12/14 by local GP.

Awareness during surgery

Hello Dr Bland.

Capsaicin cream

I had both hands operated during 2013. After the operations I never seemed to recover from pain in both hands and the swollen hands (which were also present before the operation). I then noticed nodules appearing on both my palms, together with swelling and pain in both hands/palms.

After a visit to the Rheumatologist in Jan 2013, I have finally been diagnosed (Nov 14) with Dupuytrens in the left hand and trigger finger in the right. I am also going to have ultrasounds of my feet, as they too are causing problems with pain.

Post Surgery Sensations

I am eight weeks post open surgery for severe CTS (via nerve conductivity study). Tingling started the day I woke and regained feeling in both hands. Never very intense, but always there. Doctor told me its a sign of nerve healing. Additionally, he told me I will be healing for months which I interpret as 6 to 12. My right hand symptoms and sensations, pre and post surgery are always greater than the left hand.

Update

Re 1 year post op.
Been back to see my GP about the constant pain in both hands/wrists. I have been refered to my local hospital via choose and book. I have booked it for 11 Dec at 3.30. Any advice on what I could say to the consultant to help my case in sorting the pain out. I have been dropping thing and have noticed pins and needles have come back. My GP has given me some pain killers to help me.

Numbness and tingling before CTS and after since 2013

I had numbness and tingling before and after my CTS on 7-31-2013. After the surgery my scars were very painful and the doctor said to use SCAR AWAY, which seemed to help. however the numbness and tingling got worst, the dr. tried shots in my wrist on both hands which did not work either, never relived any symptoms at all. The doctor had me try pills to dull the pins and needles which it did not. I have constant pins and needles and numbness 24 hrs aday since my surgery. I had mentioned to my doctor before surgery that I formed Keyloids.

Post Op 1 year now have stabbing pain in hand

Im 52. In good health no broken bones or traumatic accidents. So far....I had CTS a year ago(both hands) and I had all the necessary test done before proceeding with the surgery. A year before this I was going to physical therapy in hopes of avoiding the surgery. While this helped, it became necessary to have the surgery as my hands would go numb while sleeping and would wake me up feeling like they were on fire and stay this way for hours. Prior to today my last follow up was in June 2014.

B6

What are your thoughts on 200 MG of vitamin b6 daily as a conservative treatment?

CTS, DeQuirvains, Ulnar nerve compression, tennis elbow

I need answers, please help if possible. I developed sudden onset of inability to bend my fingers on my right hand on July 8, 2014. My middle finger was particularly painful. I had been working a lot of overtime, I use the keyboard and more so the mouse to go between multiple screens as well as do a lot of writing jotting down phone messages and filling out fax sheets. I worked 13 hours July 7 and was fine. I only recall several months prior (April 2014) mentioning to my PCP that my elbow hurt and I had a little wrist pain. She advised I see a Hand Surgeon for possible Carpal Tunnel.
