Carpal tunnel cases need prompt treatment
Mark Saleh

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a common cause of pain, numbness and sometimes weakness of the hand. It affects 3 to 6 percent of the population, and recognizing the symptoms may lead to early diagnosis, which can help prevent irreversible nerve damage.

There is a whole page of this site devoted to the problem of analysing what has gone wrong after unsuccessful surgery and you sh

Hi, I'm a first time visitor to Carpal-Tunnel.net. I was treated for bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome. I am still having problems with my hands. I think I was "under diagnosed" and treated accordingly. I was reading a post by someone who also seems to be having postoperative issues involving her hands that may or may not be related to her surgeons choice of CT surgical release technique.

still having pain 4 month postop and after cortisone injection

I had surgery in April, the first of two planned. I had the type of surgery where they make the incision in the palm. I have never gone through with the second surgery because pain is still present when lifting, gripping or twisting the hand. My range of motion is fine, the tingling is gone, but the hand has pain with even minimal use. It is my non-dominant hand, and i have learned to pretty much not use it if i have to grip, twist or lift more than a few pounds.

Carpal Tunnel and Trigger Finger

I had open Carpal Tunnel Surgery about 7 years ago with fabulous results! On August 12, 2014, I went to work in a Fiberglass Mold Factory. I use my hands all day, grinding, using electric sanders, hand held filers, utility knives, etc. My GP states I have osteoarthritis in mainly in my right hand knuckles.

Revision Surgery Success?

I am 2 years post CTS on both wrists. Immediately after surgery, in both hands, my palms had pins and needles and the tips of my thumb, index, and middle finger were numb. Those symptoms continue with no relief. I have since developed severe trigger finger in my right middle finger. The subsequent nerve conduction tests one year after surgery showed slight improvement in the right hand and none in the left. The dull aching pain in my wrists continues to become more severe.

Stiffness post carpal tunnel release

I have had carpal tunnel release on both hands under local anaesthetic. The right hand 15 weeks ago and the left 7. The surgery on both was immediately successful in that the numbness, tingling and pain resolve. I did experience some varying degrees of post op pain and recovery. I have returned to my local clinic (Not Kent) and have described how I still have stiffness in my hands. Although this was gradually improving it is now increasing again in my right hand especially which is 15 weeks post op. It has woken me on a number of occasions.

carpal tunnel symptoms returned

Hello. I saw you in clinic a while ago - Oct 2012 - had injection in feb 2013 - all ok for a few months but symptoms have returned probably slightly worse now. Tried splint also but no improvement. Wondered what needs to happen next ?

Possible CTS and 'slipped cervical discs'

My neurologist (sounds grand doesn't it) believes the symptoms I have been suffering are not related to my neck problems (C4& C5 C5 & C6 C6 & C7). This has been an issue for around 10 years now causing pins and needles in arms, trickling sensations in back, dizziness, nystagmus, also pain in shoulder tricep and bicep (you can put your finger on the exact spot, but this changes), migraines. I also have electric shock-type pains down both arms, and now into my legs, if I ever vomit.
